The internship is a 6-month placement that aims to provide students with real Quality work experience related to their degree. The identified candidate will have the chance to work in an international environment, working at Foundation subcontractor and supporting Offshore Wind team in project of building 98 turbines.

GE Offshore Wind is looking for a 6 months Quality Inspector Intern who is going to track incoming material quality and check finish product quality. You will be a firm advocate of quality in our business.

You will work under LQS (Lead quality supervisor) supervision to perform following missions:

  • Performing tri-parties inspections on incoming material from vendors (Approving or rejecting materials with respect to quality standards)
  • Document inspection outcomes by completing detailed reports and performance records.
  • In case of non-conformity, resolve quality-related issues in a timely manner (open a case, write down action plan and follow it)
  • Maintain records of testing, inspections.
  • Read plans, and specifications to understand the requirements of products and services.
  • Record supplier performance

You need to have good written communication abilities, strong problem-solving capabilities and solid attention to detail. In addition, you like to make quick decisions and learn the quality guidelines.

Qualifications/Requirements

  • Enrolled at an accredited university in the United States
  • Following majors accepted: Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering or other engineering/quality related field
  • Must maintain a minimum 3.0 cumulative GPA (without rounding).
  • Must be willing to take a drug test as part of the selection process
  • Must be willing to submit to a background investigation as part of the selection process
  • Must be 18 years of age or older
  • Must have reliable transportation and a valid driver's license
  • Must be willing to work in geographical area specified by the business
  • Must have the ability to work in the US for an unlimited amount of time without sponsorship
