We create opportunities for young people to engage with real-world environmental challenges, develop leadership and problem-solving skills, and contribute to initiatives that create measurable impact.

GAIA is a recognised Actor of the UN Decade on Ecosystem Restoration (2021–2030) and works across youth engagement, ecosystem restoration, climate innovation and community-led action.

Through initiatives such as Mission Prakriti, we bring together young people, innovators, institutions and organisations to build solutions for a more sustainable and resilient future.

About the Role

We are looking for ambitious, proactive and purpose-driven students to join GAIA The Earth Foundation as Campus Ambassadors.

As a GAIA Campus Ambassador, you will represent the organisation within your college or university and help build a strong student community around climate action, sustainability, innovation and leadership.

This role is ideal for students who want to go beyond conventional campus activities — by building communities, creating awareness, promoting meaningful opportunities and contributing to initiatives addressing real-world environmental challenges.

Key Responsibilities

Selected Campus Ambassadors will be responsible for:

  • Representing GAIA within your college, university and student networks.
  • Building and managing a student community interested in climate, sustainability, innovation and leadership.
  • Promoting GAIA programmes, initiatives, challenges, workshops and youth opportunities.
  • Driving student participation through WhatsApp groups, Instagram, LinkedIn, college communities and other relevant channels.
  • Creating and sharing engaging content including posts, stories, reels, announcements and programme updates.
  • Identifying and connecting with student clubs, societies, departments, faculty members and relevant campus organisations.
  • Supporting campus-level events, campaigns, workshops, challenges and community activities.
  • Encouraging students to participate in sustainability and climate innovation initiatives.
  • Supporting outreach for initiatives such as Mission Prakriti and other GAIA programmes.
  • Gathering feedback, insights and ideas from students to strengthen GAIA's youth engagement initiatives.
  • Representing GAIA professionally and contributing ideas to expand its youth and campus ecosystem.
Who Can Apply?

We are looking for students who are:

  • Currently pursuing an undergraduate or postgraduate degree.
  • Active and well-connected within their college or university.
  • Passionate about climate action, sustainability, environmental innovation, leadership, entrepreneurship or social impact.
  • Confident communicators who enjoy engaging with people.
  • Comfortable using social media and digital platforms.
  • Proactive, creative and willing to take ownership.
  • Interested in building communities and creating meaningful impact.
  • Prior experience in student clubs, events, social media, volunteering or community building is a plus, but not mandatory.
