Position Summary:

We are seeking an experienced and highly motivated Electrical Project Manager to lead and manage instrumentation and electrical scopes of work on large-scale Renewable Energy, Power Plant, or Electrical Substation construction projects. The ideal candidate will bring a strong technical background in electrical systems, a solid understanding of substation and transmission line construction, and proven project management capabilities. This role will be responsible for overseeing project planning, execution, scheduling, budgeting, and closeout, while ensuring alignment with safety, quality, and performance standards.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead and manage I&E components of construction projects from initiation through completion.
  • Oversee all phases of project execution including planning, procurement, installation, testing, and commissioning of electrical systems and instrumentation.
  • Coordinate with cross-functional teams including engineering, procurement, construction, and commissioning personnel.
  • Review and interpret electrical one-line diagrams, wiring diagrams, schematics, and construction drawings.
  • Ensure adherence to all regulatory, code, and client-specific standards.
  • Manage project schedules, budgets, and resource allocations effectively.
  • Identify project risks and develop mitigation strategies to maintain project scope, schedule, and budget.
  • Facilitate client and stakeholder communications, including regular progress updates and issue resolution.
  • Support and enforce site safety and quality assurance protocols.
  • Provide leadership and guidance to field personnel, subcontractors, and junior project staff.
  • Perform field inspections to verify progress and quality of installation.

Qualifications:

  • Minimum 5+ years of industry experience as a Project Engineer or Project Manager on large-scale Renewable Energy, Power Plant, or Electrical Substation construction projects.
  • Bachelor’s degree from an accredited university in Engineering, Engineering Management, or Construction Management is preferred; candidates with 10+ years of relevant professional experience in the electric power industry will also be considered.
  • Strong working knowledge of medium-voltage substations (including switchgear, transformers, protective relays, SCADA systems).
  • Solid understanding of high-voltage transmission (HVT) systems and associated construction and commissioning practices.
  • Proficient in project management software and tools (e.g., MS Project, Primavera, etc.).
  • Excellent leadership, communication, and organizational skills.
  • Ability to read and interpret technical documents, specifications, and electrical drawings.
  • Willingness to travel 25-35% to project sites as required.

Physical Requirements:

  • Work Environment: This job primarily operates in a professional office setting but must be able to traverse construction sites as required.
  • Physical Demands: This role requires the ability to sit for extended periods while working on a computer. Ability to occasionally lift and carry up to 20 pounds.
