Key Responsibilities:
- Assist in the design of electrical systems including power distribution, lighting, fire alarm, grounding, and low-voltage systems
- Prepare electrical drawings, specifications, and calculations under the supervision of a licensed PE
- Perform load calculations, short circuit studies, and lighting calculations
- Coordinate designs with architectural, mechanical, plumbing, and structural disciplines
- Support construction administration efforts including RFIs, submittal reviews, and field observations
- Ensure designs comply with applicable codes and standards (NEC, NFPA, local codes)
- Participate in client meetings and internal project coordination as needed
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or related field
- 2+ years of experience in MEP electrical design
- Working knowledge of the National Electrical Code (NEC)
- Experience with AutoCAD and/or Revit MEP
- Familiarity with lighting design software (AGi32, Visual, or similar) preferred
- Strong communication and organizational skills
- Engineer-in-Training (EIT) certification preferred or ability to obtain
