Responsibilities

  • Design and develop electrical systems for MEP projects including power distribution, lighting, emergency power, grounding, and low-voltage systems
  • Prepare electrical drawings, calculations, and technical specifications using AutoCAD and Revit
  • Perform load calculations, panel schedules, short-circuit and voltage drop calculations
  • Coordinate electrical designs with mechanical, plumbing, fire protection, architectural, and structural teams
  • Ensure designs comply with NEC, NFPA, IEEE, energy codes, and local/state regulations
  • Participate in project meetings and assist with responding to RFIs and submittals
  • Support construction administration efforts including site visits and field coordination as needed
  • Assist with design revisions and updates throughout project lifecycles
  • Collaborate with senior engineers and project managers to meet project schedules and budgets


Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or related engineering discipline
  • Engineer-in-Training (EIT) certification preferred but not required
  • 1–5+ years of electrical engineering experience in an MEP consulting or building systems environment
  • Working knowledge of building electrical systems including lighting, power, emergency systems, and low-voltage infrastructure
  • Familiarity with NEC, NFPA, IEEE, and local building codes
  • Proficiency in AutoCAD; Revit/BIM experience strongly preferred
  • Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks and work effectively in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
