Responsibilities
- Design and develop electrical systems for MEP projects including power distribution, lighting, emergency power, grounding, and low-voltage systems
- Prepare electrical drawings, calculations, and technical specifications using AutoCAD and Revit
- Perform load calculations, panel schedules, short-circuit and voltage drop calculations
- Coordinate electrical designs with mechanical, plumbing, fire protection, architectural, and structural teams
- Ensure designs comply with NEC, NFPA, IEEE, energy codes, and local/state regulations
- Participate in project meetings and assist with responding to RFIs and submittals
- Support construction administration efforts including site visits and field coordination as needed
- Assist with design revisions and updates throughout project lifecycles
- Collaborate with senior engineers and project managers to meet project schedules and budgets
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or related engineering discipline
- Engineer-in-Training (EIT) certification preferred but not required
- 1–5+ years of electrical engineering experience in an MEP consulting or building systems environment
- Working knowledge of building electrical systems including lighting, power, emergency systems, and low-voltage infrastructure
- Familiarity with NEC, NFPA, IEEE, and local building codes
- Proficiency in AutoCAD; Revit/BIM experience strongly preferred
- Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills
- Ability to manage multiple tasks and work effectively in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
