Electrical Engineer

Position Overview

We are seeking an Electrical Engineer with strong MEP consulting experience designing lighting, power distribution, and telecommunications systems for complex building projects. This role supports projects from conceptual design through construction administration and offers the opportunity to work closely with clients while mentoring and managing junior engineers and designers.

The ideal candidate has experience delivering electrical systems for healthcare facilities, higher education campuses, and laboratory environments, and is comfortable working within applicable codes, standards, and specifications.

Key Responsibilities

• Design and engineer electrical systems for MEP consulting projects, including:
• • Power distribution systems
  • Lighting and lighting control systems
  • Telecommunications and low-voltage systems
• Lead electrical design efforts from concept design through construction
• Apply and interpret design codes, standards, and specification requirements
• Coordinate electrical designs with architectural, mechanical, plumbing, and structural teams
• Work directly with clients to understand project goals and deliver technical solutions
• Review construction documents, submittals, and respond to RFIs
• Participate in construction administration and field coordination as required
• Mentor, train, and manage junior electrical engineers and designers
• Support project managers with technical leadership and design oversight

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering from an ABET-accredited college or university
  (or equivalent extensive experience)
• 2+ years of experience in an electrical engineering consulting environment
• Extensive experience designing:
• • Power distribution systems
  • Lighting systems
  • Telecommunications / low-voltage systems
• Strong understanding of:
• • Applicable electrical design codes
  • Industry standards and specification requirements
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
• Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to collaborate and lead within project teams

• Healthcare electrical systems design experience
• Higher education and laboratory project experience
• Client-facing consulting experience
• Leadership or mentorship experience
• Familiarity with multidisciplinary MEP coordination
