What will you be doing?
As Finance Trustee, you'll play an important role in shaping the future of Future Woodlands Scotland at a pivotal stage in the organisation's development. As we continue to grow our impact across Scotland, we're looking for someone who can bring financial expertise, strategic insight and sound judgement to support the Board in guiding the charity's long-term sustainability and success.
Working closely with fellow trustees, the Chief Executive and management team, you'll help oversee financial planning, risk management and governance, while contributing to wider strategic discussions about the organisation's future direction.
As Finance Trustee, you will also chair our Finance and Audit sub-Committee. In this role, you will play a central role in supporting financial oversight, risk management and strategic decision-making, helping the Board steer the organisation through its next phase of growth and development.

What are we looking for?
Person specification
We are looking for an individual with
- Professional experience in finance at a senior level (e.g. accountancy, financial management, audit, investment or related disciplines)
- The ability to contribute effectively to board meetings, including analysing information, contributing to discussions and supporting decision-making
- The ability to communicate complex finances to different audiences at the appropriate levels
- A strategic mindset, with the ability to support organisational development and growth
- Experience of supporting or managing organisational or operational change
- A collaborative approach and sound judgement
- Commitment to contributing time, expertise and sound judgement to support the organisation’s effectiveness
- Previous trustee experience is not required.
- Experience and understanding of charity sector financial management
- A genuine interest in environmental impact and the protection of Scotland's natural landscapes
