Teen Climate Challenge Mentors
Climathon Mentor Opportunity in Portland Metro Area!
Have you ever wanted to help inspire the next generation of climate leaders? Now is your chance. Support youth-led climate action by mentoring a high school team in this year’s Climathon—a regional climate hackathon where students design real solutions to real climate challenges. There aren’t many hands-on climate volunteer roles out there… so grab this one!
Your Role:
Mentors guide student teams as they build their projects—offering feedback, helping them think through ideas, and pointing them to useful resources. You do NOT need to be a climate scientist. People from all climate-related or sustainability-adjacent fields make fantastic mentors.
Time Commitment:
• Jan–Feb: 1–2 hours per month
• Week of March 7: On call for quick student questions
• March 14: Attend the Climathon at Catlin Gabel
Total: 6–8 hours
Who Is a Good Fit:
Professionals, educators, grad students, parents, and community members passionate about youth empowerment or climate solutions.
