Executive Lead: Climate Projects & FCC Fellows (Volunteer)
Are you a high-level operator looking to lend your expertise to one of the most vital causes of our time?
We are seeking an Executive Lead to serve as the strategic engine behind our partnerships with local school districts and community organizations. This is a high-impact volunteer role for a seasoned leader who wants to execute and have impact. We aren’t looking for someone to train; we are looking for a peer to the industry experts we work with, someone who can step in and immediately begin choreographing our climate initiatives.
As the Executive Lead, you will sit at the center of our most critical work, managing climate impact projects and overseeing our undergraduate fellows. Your role is to act as the "Chief Conductor" - taking our vision and technical resources and turning them into tangible climate wins for Portland’s students and community.
- Strategic Project Oversight: Own the execution of climate projects within local school districts and community organizations, ensuring initiatives move from the planning phase to completion.
- Executive Management: Lead and coordinate a high-caliber team of Industry Experts, FCC Fellows, and Volunteers, aligning their specialized skills to meet project milestones.
- Resource Choreography: Identify bottlenecks and deploy talent where it’s needed most. You are the one who ensures the right expert is in the right room at the right time.
Who You Are:
- The Accomplished Executive: You have spent your career leading organizations, departments, or massive projects. You are looking for a way to apply those "heavyweight" skills to the climate crisis.
- The Proactive Operator: You don't need a manual. You see the goal, assess the resources, and start moving the pieces on the board.
- The Master of People: You can command a room of senior engineers and inspire a group of young fellows with equal ease.
- The Committed Local: You care deeply about Portland and want to see our schools lead the nation in climate resilience.
Why This Role
This is not your typical volunteer "committee" position. This is an executive-level appointment for someone who wants to remain at the top of their game while making a legacy-defining contribution to our city’s future. You will have the authority to drive real change and the platform to mentor the next generation of climate leaders.
