Role Description

Every tonne of carbon we help a client measure starts out as a messy pile of utility bills, spend data, and supplier files. We're looking for a junior data analyst to turn that into the clean, reliable numbers that sit behind meaningful climate action. You'll build and maintain the pipelines and spreadsheets that take raw client data and convert it into standardised formats ready for emissions calculations and reporting. You'll also sit in on client calls to understand the business behind the numbers, so the automation you build actually reflects how each client's world really works.

What You'll Do

• Take raw client data files in varied formats and structures and process them into clean, standardised templates.
• Build and improve Python scripts to automate recurring data cleaning, transformation, and reporting tasks - replacing manual spreadsheet work wherever possible.
• Innovate new solutions to complex data problems, transforming information into usable carbon data.
• Build systems to extract and store emissions data from online resources, such as product carbon footprints, and supplier-specific emissions data, enriching measurement information for accurate, action-focused carbon measurements.
• Join client calls to understand their operations, data sources, and reporting needs, and translate that context into how their data should be handled.
• Spot data quality issues, gaps, or inconsistencies early, and flag or resolve them before they hit downstream reporting.
• Document data processes and assumptions so pipelines are maintainable as clients and data sources change.
• Work closely with the wider team to understand GHG accounting methodology and apply it correctly to each client's data.
• Maintain data behind decarbonisation models for active strategies to decrease company emissions.

What We're Looking For

• Solid working knowledge of Python for data manipulation (e.g. pandas) and Excel (formulas, pivot tables).
• Some experience building automations or reports from raw data - school projects, internships, or personal projects all count.
• Comfortable working with messy, inconsistent, real-world data and figuring out how to standardise it.
• Innovative, problem-solving mindset - we are a small start up and there is a lot of flexibility to design and build experimental solutions.
• Comfortable using AI tools (e.g. Copilot, ChatGPT, Claude) to speed up coding and data work.
• Good communication skills - able to sit on a client call, ask sensible questions, and take clear notes.
• Curious and happy to learn GHG accounting and sustainability concepts on the job.
• Organised and detail-oriented; comfortable owning a process end-to-end.
• Interest in climate, sustainability, or ESG topics.
• Right to work in the UK

Nice to Have

• Exposure to SQL or databases.
• Google Cloud Platform experience.
• Software engineering knowledge (as a start up we work on a wide range of projects and often build data-based internal tools for the team to use).
• Familiarity with version control (Git).

Employment Time: Full Time

Work Schedule: 9AM-18PM, Hybrid Work Model(2 Days Minimum in London Office)

Salary: £30,000 starting, 3 month review, 6-9 month salary level attainment plan
