Project Manager Future Grid (BESS)

We’re partnering with a well-established electrical infrastructure business delivering complex energy and utilities projects across NSW. Operating across design, construction, commissioning and handover, they have secured a strong pipeline of Future Grid work, including a multi-site BESS rollout across the region.


The role

  • Lead delivery of grid-scale BESS and HV substation projects across Greater Sydney
  • Office-led position focused on coordination, commercial control and stakeholder management
  • Work closely with engineering, construction and commissioning teams across the full project lifecycle


Project scope

  • Delivery of a 12-site BESS program across HV and MV systems
  • Grid connection works for renewable and private network clients
  • End-to-end delivery across design, construction and commissioning


Key responsibilities

  • End-to-end project management from mobilisation through to commissioning and close-out
  • Manage interfaces across substations, HV systems, battery infrastructure and grid connections
  • Coordinate subcontractors, consultants and internal delivery teams
  • Oversee program, cost control, variations and reporting
  • Manage quality and compliance (ITPs, permits, regulatory requirements)
  • Support testing, commissioning and energisation activities
  • Identify and mitigate risks, resolving delivery issues and non-conformances
  • Act as primary interface with clients, network authorities and stakeholders


About you

  • Experience delivering energy, utilities or HV electrical infrastructure projects
  • Exposure to substations, grid connections or BESS projects preferred
  • Strong project controls and commercial understanding
  • Confident managing multiple stakeholders and delivery partners
  • Engineering or Project Management qualification preferred

Package

  • $200K – $220K package
  • Up to 15% performance-based bonus
  • 6 months parental / carer’s leave
