About The Role

We are seeking talented Consultants or Senior Consultants to join our Economic and Financial Consulting (EFC) team. The selected applicant/s will be an integral part of this fast-growing practice, working with team members locally, nationally and internationally.
The selected Consultant/Senior Consultants (2-5 years' experience) will work across the segments of the Economic and Financial Consulting team, with a focus on Energy & Decarbonisation. O ur team, which includes economists, engineers, government and regulatory specialists, commercial and strategy advisors and modellers regularly works with businesses, investors, governments, regulators and market institutions to find unique and bespoke solutions to meet our client's needs.
A successful applicant is capable of tackling novel and intricate economic challenges with precision and expertise. The ideal candidate will possess the ability to analyse complex economic issues, apply advanced methodologies, and deliver high quality outputs. In addition, the selected applicant will be entrusted with overseeing key project components and also begin to develop client relationships.

Specific Areas Of Focus Include
- Market Design and Regulation - Our team active works with clients to analyse and design frameworks that support the development of markets to deliver government objectives. Our local capability is supported by access to FTI Consulting's market leading global team of energy market design experts.
- Energy infrastructure - Our team supports public and private sector clients develop new energy projects in the transitioning energy market. We work with our clients to understand the different commercial, strategic and regulatory drivers that will enable the successful deployment of capital and the realisation of business plans.
- Energy Transition - In the transition to a low carbon energy industry, many existing players are vulnerable to declining revenues but have the capital and capabilities that can be leveraged to target low carbon opportunities. Our team works closely with these clients to understand how they can leverage their expertise, capabilities and assets to successfully enter new markets.
What You'll Do
The selected candidate will:
- Undertake economic research and analysis to inform our clients' decisions - including economic and financial modelling.
- Support and contribute towards the production of reports, presentations and other client deliverables.
- Assist with business development, preparing proposals and bids.
- Develop and acquire new skills by participating in internal and external training and educational opportunities as well as through working closely with our existing team of experts.
- Work as part of a team to contribute to a positive workplace culture and support a collective work-life balance.
- Develop relationships with our global team of experts and with new and existing clients.
- Learn and develop your existing expertise by gaining exposure to a wide range of projects as well as FTI's team of global experts.

Qualifications & Experience
We are looking for highly motivated and passionate professionals with:
- Tertiary qualification is required, for example in Economics, Engineering, Commerce, Policy, Climate Change (other qualifications will be considered).
- 2 to 5 years of experience in consulting firms, industry or government.
- Relevant experience in the focus areas described above.
- An understanding of the energy sector challenges.
- Experience in qualitative and quantitative analysis to support decision-making and effectively communicating your findings to a broad spectrum of people, including proficiency with Excel.
- Experience working within a team to develop and deliver innovative solutions to complex problems.
