A rapidly growing energy infrastructure company focused on the development, construction, and operation of utility-scale energy storage assets in wholesale electricity markets is seeking an Assistant Project Manager (APM). The organization has a strong track record in the power sector and is backed by a major institutional investor, with an expanding portfolio of projects in development and construction.
The APM will support the execution of utility-scale battery energy storage and substation projects. This role contributes to project delivery across safety, schedule, budget, contract management, and construction quality.
The position is primarily office-based with required travel to project sites as needed. A hybrid work model is in place, requiring in-office presence multiple days per week.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience
- Familiarity with core project management processes including budgeting, contract negotiation, change order management, and scheduling software
- PMP certification is a plus
- Knowledge of construction safety practices (OSHA 30 preferred)
- Minimum 2+ years of construction experience, including field/site exposure
- Valid driver’s license and eligibility for company vehicle insurance
- Ability to obtain a valid passport for potential international travel
Key Responsibilities
Planning
- Support coordination of project design with internal and external engineering teams
- Assist in developing and maintaining project plans, including participation in project kick-off and close-out activities
- Help ensure contractors maintain daily safety plans and work plans
- Monitor project schedules and assist with recovery planning when needed
- Support coordination of design RFIs (Requests for Information)
- Engage with landowners and stakeholders to ensure alignment and satisfaction
