Energy, Sustainability & Decarbonisation Programme Consultant – Dublin
2-Year Contract
I’m recruiting for an experienced Energy, Sustainability & Decarbonisation Programme Consultant to take a lead role within a large, complex public-sector organisation in Dublin.
This is a delivery-focused position for someone who can take an existing sustainability strategy and turn it into a fully costed, funded and deliverable decarbonisation programme.
You’ll work across energy, infrastructure, capital planning and sustainability, with responsibility from initial assessment and business case development right through to project delivery and benefits realisation.
The Role
- Review and develop the existing Energy & Sustainability Strategy
- Build a phased decarbonisation roadmap
- Develop detailed CAPEX/OPEX plans
- Identify and prioritise energy and carbon-reduction projects
- Develop robust business cases and investment proposals
- Identify and secure SEAI and public-sector funding
- Lead delivery of approved energy/infrastructure projects
- Manage contractors, stakeholders, risk and programme delivery
- Establish energy and carbon performance measures
- Report progress to senior executives and key external stakeholders
- Ensure alignment with public-sector climate and decarbonisation targets
What I’m Looking For
This is a specialist appointment and previous delivery experience is important.
You’ll need:
- Proven delivery of energy, sustainability or decarbonisation projects within a complex operational environment
- Strong experience developing sustainability strategies and translating them into practical implementation programmes
- Excellent CAPEX/OPEX modelling and business case experience
- Strong knowledge of SEAI funding/grant programmes and public-sector funding
- Experience managing major energy/infrastructure programmes across complex estates
- Strong programme and project management capability
- Ability to engage effectively with senior stakeholders, technical teams and contractors
Experience within a live acute healthcare environment is particularly important for this appointment.
