The Energy Rebate Analyst role will support the implementation and growth of commercial energy efficiency programs across major utilities. This role blends rebate processing, energy analysis, and project support, providing critical back-end calculations and insights to ensure program accuracy, compliance, and efficiency.
The ideal candidate will bring both analytical rigor and collaborative problem-solving to manage rebate applications, support auditing efforts, and continuously engage with internal teams, contractors, and customers. You will actively contribute to project tracking, calculations, and reporting while learning and applying Texas TRM methodologies, internal program software, and Utility program requirements. Your ability to organize complex, data-intensive projects, support continuous outreach, and step in on-site as needed will be key to program success.
Key Responsibilities
- Energy Analysis & Calculations: Utilize Excel workbooks and internal program software to perform back-end calculations, quantify energy savings, and support rebate estimates. Assist in building and maintaining analytical tools that inform program decisions.
- Rebate Application Processing & Audit Support: Review and validate commercial rebate applications for small and large projects, ensuring compliance with program requirements, financial accuracy, and TRM standards. Provide backup support to auditors and proactively address discrepancies or missing information.
- Continuous Outreach & Lead Engagement: Proactively engage with potential program participants through cold calling, follow-up on soft leads, and outreach to existing client lists. Build relationships with customers, contractors, and trade allies to generate interest and drive participation in energy efficiency programs.
- Project Tracking & Workflow Management: Monitor project progress across multiple stages, ensuring deadlines are met and all data is accurate. Track applications in internal systems and maintain visibility for internal teams and external stakeholders.
- Client Support & Relationship Management: Serve as a point of contact for inquiries, clarifications, and escalations. Guide clients through program requirements, application processes, and next steps to ensure a smooth participation experience.
- Process Optimization & Problem-Solving: Identify inefficiencies in workflows and outreach strategies. Collaborate with the team to streamline processes, improve client engagement, and accelerate project completion.
- Program Learning & Compliance: Gain proficiency in TX TRM, internal program software, and Oncor program requirements. Apply program guidelines consistently while supporting new initiatives and special projects.
- On-Site Support & Project Ownership: Provide additional support during field visits, audits, and site assessments, similar to project ownership assignments given to colleagues. Step in as needed to ensure smooth operations and timely execution of program goals.
Required Qualifications
- High School Diploma or GED
- Strong organizational, communication, and multitasking skills, with the ability to manage competing priorities while maintaining attention to detail.
- Analytical mindset with experience solving complex problems using data-driven approaches. Ability to work cross-functionally with internal teams, contractors, and customers to maintain alignment with program goals.
- Valid driver’s license and flexibility to support site visits, audits, and field-based tasks as needed.
Preferred Qualifications
- 1+ years of experience in energy efficiency programs, rebate processing, or project coordination.
- Experience with utility programs, rebate tracking systems, or CRM tools.
- Familiarity with Texas TRM and Electric Utility program requirements.
- Degree in energy efficiency, sustainability, project management, data analysis, or a related field. Proficiency in MS Excel for data tracking, energy calculations, and analytical reporting.
