Position Summary:
We are seeking a detail-oriented and results-driven Site Acquisition Specialist to join our Site Acquisition Team. This role will focus on identifying, evaluating, and securing lease agreements for sites to install, own, and operate EV charging stations.
As part of our dynamic team, you will play a critical role in supporting the company’s growth and expansion plans by ensuring site host agreements align with our strategic objectives and program requirements. This position will report directly to our Head of Site Development and Acquisition.
Responsibilities:
Corporate Partnerships & Strategic Engagement:
- Identify, pursue, and develop partnerships with corporate brands, retail chains, real estate groups, fuel operators, municipalities, tribal governments, and other high-value partners to support network expansion.
- Serve as a primary relationship owner for corporate partners, ensuring alignment with Francis Energy’s mission, brand, and long-term growth strategy.
- Lead partnership pitches, presentations, and engagement meetings that educate corporate leadership on the benefits of EV Charging and communicate the value of collaboration with Francis Energy.
- Work cross-functionally with Business Development and Executive Leadership to build partnership strategies and support national account initiatives.
Site Acquisition & Evaluation:
- Identify and evaluate strategic locations suitable for EV fast-charging development, ensuring alignment with the company's strategic goals and expansion plans.
- Conduct detailed feasibility assessments - including site visits - to determine technical viability, utility access, permitting considerations, and compliance.
- Perform due diligence to confirm ownership, zoning regulations, easements, setbacks, and other development constraints.
Contract Negotiation & Agreement Execution:
- Negotiate site host agreements, lease terms, and partnership contracts with corporate, commercial, and individual property owners of all sizes.
- Collaborate with internal teams to ensure agreements satisfy corporate objectives and, for NEVI-funded projects, adhere to all relevant federal and state program requirements.
- Manage contract workflows, redlines, and approvals to drive agreements to execution within project timelines.
Cross-Functional Collaboration:
- Partner closely with Pre-Construction, Operations, and Utility Coordination teams to ensure seamless project handoff from acquisition through development.
- Support Ensure alignment between Site Host partners and internal teams by managing communications and providing detailed site information, partnership expectations, and operational considerations for all parties.
- Monitor partnership commitments and deliverables through varying points in the partnership cycle to ensure long-term satisfaction and compliance.
Tracking, Reporting & Compliance:
- Maintain organized records of acquisition efforts, partnership communications, contracts, and site analyses.
- Work within CRM to provide detailed reporting of efforts across multiple geographic areas and programs in order to efficiently maintain a functioning pipeline.
- Ensure all sites adhere to applicable regulatory, program, and eligibility requirements, including all necessary documentation and reporting.
Education and Experience:
- Bachelor’s degree in business, real estate, urban planning, or related field, or equivalent experience.
- Minimum of 4 years of experience in site acquisition, real estate, or related field.
- Proven negotiation skills and the ability to build strong relationships with stakeholders.
- Strong analytical skills to assess site feasibility, including location, accessibility, and compliance with program requirements.
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to present ideas and negotiate effectively.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and familiarity with project management tools.
- Ability to travel regionally as required for site visits and negotiations.
