Senior Deployment Director
Francis Energy is a pioneer in the EV (Electric Vehicle) charging industry, having established the nation’s first comprehensive statewide electric vehicle fast-charging network by installing more than 850 fast charging ports throughout the Country. Position Summary:
The Senior Deployment Director will serve as a key leader in Francis Energy’s nationwide rollout of EV charging infrastructure, with a strong focus on federally and state-funded programs, including the National Electric Vehicle Infrastructure (NEVI) Formula Program. Reporting to executive leadership, this role will be responsible for driving multi-state construction programs, ensuring projects are delivered efficiently, on schedule, and in full compliance with federal and state requirements. The Senior Deployment Director will develop and implement scalable systems and processes while serving as a primary liaison with state and federal agencies, utilities, and construction partners, advancing Francis Energy’s mission to deliver equitable, reliable, and sustainable clean energy infrastructure.
Program & Deployment Leadership:
- Lead the planning and execution of EV infrastructure projects funded by NEVI and other government programs.
- Translate federal/state compliance requirements into operational deployment strategies.
- Ensure projects meet all safety, quality, budget, and timeline objectives while advancing Francis Energy’s mission.
Construction Oversight:
- Direct and oversee multi-state construction activities, from site preparation through commissioning.
- Implement standardized systems, processes, and KPIs to drive efficiency and scalability.
- Collaborate closely with engineering, project management, and construction teams to resolve issues and optimize execution.
Government Compliance & Stakeholder Engagement:
- Partner closely with the Compliance and Government Relations teams, serving as the primary point of contact and liaison for the Construction group on all compliance and reporting requirements from state DOTs and other regulatory agencies.
- Ensure all construction-related deliverables and documentation requests are accurate, complete, and aligned with state and federal requirements by serving as the quality control lead for construction compliance items.
- Build strong relationships with government partners, utilities, contractors, and vendors to streamline project approvals and execution.
Strategic Partnerships & Growth:
- Negotiate and manage contracts with construction and utility partners to ensure cost-effective, high-quality delivery.
Education and Experience:
- 12+ years of progressive experience in construction, deployment, or infrastructure project management, with at least 5 years in a senior leadership role.
- Proven track record managing multi-state or national deployment programs in energy, infrastructure, or construction.
- Deep knowledge of federal and state funding programs (NEVI or similar), including compliance, reporting, and project budget management.
- Strong financial acumen with experience overseeing large-scale budgets ($50M+).
- Excellent leadership, communication, and relationship-building skills with the ability to influence across government, utility, and construction stakeholders.
- Demonstrated ability to build scalable systems and drive operational excellence in fast-growth environments.
