Solar Asset Manager
Job Description:
Our client is seeking an Asset Manager. This role is responsible for managing our client’s portfolio of operational solar assets. Tasks include client communication with external stakeholders, monitoring solar system performance, diagnosing underperformance, scheduling maintenance visits, and tracking operational expenses for assets. Our client develops solar and solar-plus-storage projects nationwide. We focus on the commercial and industrial market. Our projects range in size from 100 kW to 2 MW, serving schools, houses of worship, multifamily communities, retail centers, and real estate firms, with a significant focus on community solar.
We own and manage all our projects through our investment fund. Our team has secured financing and safe-harbored its entire pipeline to support upwards of $250 million in projects over the next several years. Responsitilities
- Act as the primary point of contact for operational project stakeholders, including landowners, solar asset owners, financial partners, utilities, and O&M providers
- Coordinate internally with engineering and development teams.
- Monitor generation performance of the operational fleet using monitoring platforms such as SolarEdge, AlsoEnergy, and Chint.
- Diagnose and resolve technical issues on operational projects. Work closely with our client’s maintenance team to troubleshoot and fix equipment and control-related problems.
- Manage the schedule for our client’s maintenance team, including scheduling and managing site visits for corrective and preventative maintenance.
- Manage O&M contracts for operational projects.
- Track operational expenses for operational projects.
- Review and track funds received from operational projects.
- Manage and maintain operational tracking financial models.
- Generate monthly production reports and invoices.
- Ensure that operating projects comply with all relevant regulations, environmental requirements, permits, and safety standards.
- Manage our client’s spare parts inventory.
Requirements
- 1–3 years of experience in the renewable energy industry.
- Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering, Sustainability, Economics, Environmental Science, Renewable Energy, or a related field preferred.
- Strong knowledge of renewable energy technology.
- Strong organizational skills and project management experience.
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel.
- Familiarity with asset management and/or solar project design.
- Passion for working in the renewable energy industry.
- Must have valid work authorization in the United States.
