Qualifications:

Bachelor’s degree in Agriculture, Environmental Science, Climate Science, Sustainability, Agri-Business, Biotechnology, or related fields (MBA or Postgraduate qualification in Management, Innovation, Entrepreneurship, or Sustainability preferred).


Role Overview

The Incubation Manager – Agriculture & Climate Sustainability will manage and scale start-ups within the FITT incubation ecosystem focused on sustainable agriculture, climate technologies, Agri-biotech, food systems, water, energy, and environmental innovation. The role will support the development of scalable, impact-driven solutions that address climate resilience, resource efficiency, and sustainable livelihoods.


KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

Program Strategy and Execution

1)Design and implement incubation programs aligned with emerging trends in agriculture, climate innovation, sustainability, and circular economy.2)Develop and monitor program roadmaps, start-up milestones, and sector-specific impact deliverables.3)Collaborate with academic labs, research centres, Agri institutions, climate experts, and sustainability-focused organizations at IIT Delhi and beyond.4)Support thematic programs in areas such as climate-smart agriculture, carbon markets, water management, renewable energy, and sustainable supply chains.

Start-up and Portfolio Management

1)Support early-stage start-ups in product validation, pilot implementation, regulatory compliance, and go-to-market strategies.2)Guide start-ups on technology validation, field trials, certifications, sustainability frameworks, and commercialization.3)Assist start-ups in building scalable business models aligned with environmental and social impact.4)Monitor portfolio progress and provide strategic inputs to accelerate growth and investment readiness.

Mentorship and Ecosystem Building

1)Build and engage a strong mentor network comprising agronomists, climate scientists, sustainability experts, industry leaders, and investors.2)Facilitate collaborations with Agri-tech firms, climate-tech companies, NGOs, farmer organizations, and impact investors.3)Organize workshops, knowledge sessions, and networking opportunities to strengthen the agriculture and climate innovation ecosystem.

Stakeholder Management1)Engage with government bodies, CSR partners, development agencies, climate funds, and industry associations.2)Develop partnerships with agriculture universities, sustainability platforms, research institutes, and corporate innovation teams.3)Represent FITT at agriculture, sustainability, and climate innovation forums, conferences, and demo days.

Monitoring, Impact & Reporting

1)Track start-up KPIs, environmental and social impact metrics, and investment outcomes.2)Prepare detailed program reports, sustainability assessments, and impact case studies for internal and external stakeholders.3)Support grant reporting, ESG metrics, and impact measurement frameworks aligned with national and global sustainability goals.

KEY COMPETENCIES1)Strong understanding of the agriculture, climate-tech, and sustainability start-up ecosystem.2)Knowledge of climate policies, ESG frameworks, carbon markets, and sustainability standards.3)Experience working with Agri-tech, food-tech, or climate-tech start-ups.4)Excellent stakeholder management, communication, and analytical skills.5)Ability to manage multiple programs and start-ups in a dynamic and fast-paced environment.
