ROLE OVERVIEW

Forsa Energy are seeking a Graduate Renewables Developer to join its busy development team. The role will support the development phase of wind and / or solar assets within Forsa’s portfolio. Working as part of the wider development and supporting more senior colleagues, this role will assist the coordination of land, planning, grid and technical workstreams across the full project life cycle; from origination and acquisition, through development, to achieving shovel ready status. Projects will include both greenfield and repowering opportunities throughout the UK.

The role will also support workstreams across the wider business, including operations and construction.

KEY TASKS & RESPONSIBILITIES

Assist in the negotiation and securing of landowner agreements required for project development including main site, cable, access and other associated agreements.
Develop early stage wind and PV layouts for feasibility reviews, using specialist software.
Support securing planning permissions & managing EIAs for greenfield and repowering projects, working closely with external consultants, local authorities, and key stakeholders.
Work with Project Developers to devise project grid connection strategies, coordinating with internal grid specialists.
Assist in the De-risking of ready-to-build projects through a considered and well managed pre-construction phase.
Work with Project Developers to managing discharge of conditions, pre-construction licensing, procurement and support the in-house delivery team.
Support the construction team through coordinating discharge of conditions and compliance of planning obligations.
Coordinate planning variations for operational assets, working closely with the Forsa operations team.
In conjunction with Project Developers, take responsibility for budgets and cost control across individual projects where assigned.
Collate and manage inputs to financial modelling.
Assist Project Development team in carrying out land and planning due diligence on acquisition opportunities.

THE CANDIDATE

The ideal candidate will have an environmental, planning or engineering background, with good knowledge of the UK renewables market. They will be flexible and able to adapt to working in a dynamic, fast-growing environment, adept at forming close and efficient working relations with the existing team. They will need to be innovative and keen to undertake new responsibilities in line with the rapid growth of the company.

SKILLS & EXPERIENCE

Professional qualification in Engineering discipline or Planning/Environmental Qualification.
A basic understanding of UK planning systems and development lifecycle
An understanding of Wind and Solar project technicalities
Experience of GIS and/or CAD and willingness to learn new software packages for wind and solar design
Ability to use Excel and AI to a good level (intermediate to advanced)
Tenacity, persistence and determination to succeed
Excellent interpersonal, report writing and presentation skills
Ability to work under pressure and to deadlines
Drivers license an advantage
