Senior Renewable Energy Consultant
Senior Renewable Energy Consultant
Residential Solar, Battery Storage & Energy Management
Forecast Energy | Hybrid Remote | Washington State
Estimated Annual Commission Earnings: $75,000–$150,000
About Forecast Energy
Forecast Energy has served the Pacific Northwest since 2005 under the same ownership, with a focus on renewable energy since 2012. We design and install solar PV, battery storage, microgrids, EV charging infrastructure, and integrated energy management systems throughout Washington State.
Our work extends well beyond traditional rooftop solar. We help homeowners reduce utility costs, prepare for outages, and gain greater control over their energy through thoughtfully designed systems, including whole-home backup, off-grid power, ground-mounted arrays, and complex electrical integrations.
We are not a high-pressure sales organization. Our approach is rooted in technical analysis, customer education, and long-term problem solving. We strive to provide our customers with the best possible value by keeping overhead and project costs competitive without compromising the quality of our work.
Our experienced in-house design, electrical, and installation teams allow us to deliver thoughtfully designed, reliable energy systems at a fair price. We believe every part of the project, from design and equipment selection to installation and sales, should contribute to that value. Our goal isn't simply to offer the lowest contract price, but to deliver the best overall value for our customers' investment.
About the Role
We're seeking an experienced Senior Renewable Energy Consultant who understands residential solar and battery storage and enjoys helping customers make informed decisions about their energy needs.
You'll independently evaluate customer goals, analyze utility and site information, develop technically sound proposals, and guide projects from consultation through contracting and installation.
Forecast provides residential sales leads and opportunities, but independent business development is also an important part of this position. We're looking for someone who actively builds professional relationships, develops referrals, participates in community and industry events, and creates new opportunities.
This is a full-time, commission-based position offering flexibility, autonomy, strong earning potential, and opportunities for professional growth.
What You'll Do
- Consult with homeowners to evaluate energy usage, utility costs, backup power needs, and long-term goals.
- Analyze utility data, site conditions, and electrical infrastructure to develop appropriate system recommendations.
- Evaluate residential EV charging needs, electrical service capacity, and opportunities to integrate charging with solar and storage.
- Design and propose solar PV, battery storage, whole-home backup, EV charging, off-grid, and integrated energy management systems.
- Prepare accurate system designs, proposals, and contracts using design tools and other resources.
- Clearly explain equipment capabilities, system performance, financial considerations, and installation requirements.
- Manage company-provided leads while independently generating business through referrals, networking, and professional relationships.
- Actively participate in community events, educational opportunities, industry organizations, and professional networking to generate leads and build lasting relationships.
- Develop referral partnerships with contractors, electricians, real estate professionals, and other businesses serving homeowners.
- Collaborate with our in-house teams and maintain customer relationships throughout project completion.
- Stay current on renewable energy technology, utility programs, incentives, and applicable codes.
Qualifications
- Demonstrated experience in residential solar PV and battery storage consultation, sales, or project development.
- Strong understanding of residential electrical systems, solar production, energy storage, and related technologies.
- Experience independently developing proposals and managing customers through contract execution.
- Ability to analyze utility data and translate technical information into practical recommendations.
- Familiarity with EV charging, utility interconnection, permitting, net metering, and applicable electrical codes.
- Experience with solar design and proposal software.
- Proven ability to develop new business and build lasting customer relationships.
- Strong communication, organization, and problem-solving skills.
NABCEP PV Technical Sales Professional board certification is strongly preferred. Additional NABCEP credentials, manufacturer certifications, and demonstrated technical experience are valued.
What We Offer
- Commission-based compensation with company-provided leads and opportunities to increase earnings through self-generated business.
- Flexible scheduling and hybrid remote work.
- Support and collaboration from experienced in-house design, electrical, and installation teams.
- Opportunities to develop complex residential energy systems.
- Manufacturer training, professional development assistance, and a defined career progression.
- A collaborative team environment grounded in technical integrity, accountability, and quality installations.
