Position Summary
Fellows must be members of a defined Priority Population andresidents of New York’s 14th Congressional District.The Climate Curriculum Fellow works collaboratively with the Bronx Green Jobs Center ( BGJC ) senior management team andtraining partners to ensure New Yorkers can access high-quality, credential-aligned training across five BGJC programs: (1) Solar PV and Energy Efficiency, (2) EV Charging, (3) Urban Agriculture/Hydroponics, (4) Environmental Justice, and (5) Green Entrepreneurship. The role helps coordinate participant enrollment, training schedules, curriculum development, and serves as a liaison for instructors, participants, and partner
organizations.
Reporting to the Assistant Vice President for Community Engaged Learning, the Fellow supports the enrollment pipeline (outreach, application, and registration), cohort schedules and logistics, and curriculum development and assessment that empowers instructors to teach effectively and participants to progress toward industry-recognized credentials. The Fellow also communicates at the direction of the AVP with instructors, participants, case managers, and partner organizations, ensuring smooth operations, timely data, and strong participant retention.
Essential Functions
Leads orientations, site visits, and onboarding; communicates expectations and schedules.
Partners with case managers to coordinate wraparound services and support retention.
Identifies educational partnerships to pursue in preparation of the BGJC’s official launch in Fall 2026.
Assists with the development of curriculum in collaboration with instructors/subject matter experts.
Aligns content with certifications and labor market needs ( NABCEP PV Associate; OSHA -10; GPRO , etc.).
Prepares weekly instructor packets (including agendas, rosters, accommodations, attendance records, supply lists, and evaluation links) before each session.
Coordinates cohort schedules, logistics, rooms/labs, and materials.
Schedules classes, labs, site visits, and guest speakers; ensures materials and equipment are ready.
Administers pre-/post-tests; collects feedback; tracks action items for continuous improvement.
Manages outreach, application, and enrollment processes, and maintains waitlists and confirmations.
Conducts intake interviews; verifies eligibility; collects required documentation.
Maintains accurate participant records in the student database, tracks progress, outcomes, and more as assigned by management.

Required Qualifications: Education and Experience
High school diploma or equivalent.
Minimum 1 year of relevant experience in office administration, customer service, or related field.
Required Qualifications: Knowledge and Skills
Strong interpersonal and written communication skills with the ability to interact effectively with a diverse range of partners and participants.
Excellent organizational and multitasking skills, with a strong attention to detail and follow-through.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook) and comfort with scheduling or project management tools.
Willingness to work flexible hours (occasional evenings/weekends) to support program operations.
Commitment to the mission of climate justice, workforce equity, and community development.
ELIGIBILITY — Climate Justice Fellowship Plus Program
To be considered eligible for the Climate Justice Fellowship Plus Program, an individual must, at the time of program entry:

Experience with community-based organizations and/or the Bronx/ NYC context.
Knowledge of green industries, sustainability, or workforce training programs.
Bilingual (English/Spanish) strongly preferred.

ELIGIBILITY — Climate Justice Fellowship Plus Program
To be considered eligible for the Climate Justice Fellowship Plus Program, an individual must, at the time of program entry:
- Be a resident of New York’s 14th Congressional District, which includes parts of the Bronx and Queens.
- Be a member of a Priority Population as defined by the Program (see below).
- Commit to working full-time in the Bronx and/or Queens for the duration of the 15-month Fellowship.
- Be a new hire (an individual with no prior paid or unpaid employment with the host employer, not a relative of existing staff or management, and possibly new to the climate justice or clean energy sector).
- Not be a relative of the owners, principals, hiring managers, or current employees of the employer.
- “Relative” includes relationships by blood, marriage, or legal action such as spouse, parent, child, sibling, in-laws, stepparents/stepchildren, domestic partners, or other close relations as defined by NYSERDA .
- Commit to the program’s goal of advancing climate justice and clean energy priorities for the Bronx and Queens.
- Not be enrolled in full-time coursework; part-time enrollment (6–8 hours/week) may be considered on a case-by-case basis.
Eligible applicants include individuals who identify with one or more of the following:
- Displaced homemakers.
- Low-income individuals (income ≤ 60% of State Median or eligible for programs such as HEAP , TANF , or SNAP ).
- Indians, Alaska Natives, and Native Hawaiians.
- Individuals with disabilities (including recipients of SSDI ).
- Older individuals (55+).
- Previously incarcerated individuals.
- Individuals experiencing homelessness.
- Individuals who have aged out of foster care.
- English language learners, individuals with low literacy, or those facing substantial cultural barriers.
- Eligible migrant and seasonal farmworkers.
- Individuals within two years of exhausting lifetime TANF eligibility.
- Single parents (including single pregnant persons).
- Long-term unemployed individuals (27+ consecutive weeks).
- 16–24-year-olds who have completed a recognized work preparedness training program (e.g., BOCES , YouthBuild, AmeriCorps).
- Incumbent or unemployed fossil fuel workers
Experience with community-based organizations and/or the Bronx/ NYC context.
Knowledge of green industries, sustainability, or workforce training programs.
