Ford Energy is seeking a high-performing Global Supply Manager for electrical components to partner with internal business stakeholders and vendors to execute strategies, drive continuous improvement, and optimize our source-to-pay processes through collaboration with the global energy storage sourcing team

This role will lead strategic sourcing, issue and evaluate RFQs, manage commercial issues, lead negotiations and be responsible for overall supplier management. This role's primary area of responsibility is to manage electrical purchasing components for large energy storage systems.

This role requires a deep understanding of source-to-pay and proven experience with integrating business process and policies through procurement platforms. The Global Supply Manager is expected to build solid relationship with key suppliers and stakeholders, develop commodity strategies, perform detailed spend analysis, know exactly what is happening in the micro and macro-economic environment around commodities and take initiative to optimize the supply base and identify and drive improvements to processes and efficiency. To be a successful candidate for this role, you must be a self-motivated, organized, proven sourcing expert who is comfortable working in a fast-paced environment interacting with a variety of roles and business functions.

Responsibilities

What you'll do...
  • Partner with business teams to develop and execute procurement plans aligned with business strategies and priorities.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with business stakeholders including executive-level regional business leads.
  • Design, conduct and synthesize supplier, industry and market research for assigned commodities to develop sourcing strategies.
  • Provide analysis of requirements, spend, and savings to ensure the most cost-effective options.
  • Identify and negotiate commercial cost reduction opportunities based on a solid understanding of cost drivers and contracts.
  • Develop and manage suppliers according to business needs and maintain day-to-day supplier relationships, act as the lead point of contact for commercial discussion.
  • Issue RFXs for sourcing assigned commodities, review raised purchase requests and support/lead a strategic sourcing approval process.
  • Work on "Lean" initiatives and identify other sourcing efficiencies via benchmarking, competitive quotes and resourcing.
  • Ensure compliance with procurement policies and processes.
  • Provide guidance to internal stakeholders on procurement principles, policies and processes.
  • Ability to multi-task, prioritize and work in an extremely fast-paced environment
Qualifications

You'll have...
  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Supply Chain, Operations Management, Engineering and/or equivalent experience.
  • 3+ years of relevant experience in operations, manufacturing, procurement, supply chain or related area
  • 2+ years' experience of negotiating contracts and/or relationship management

  • 5+ years of relevant experience in operations, manufacturing, procurement, supply chain or related area
  • Experience working with electrical components, including semiconductors and electrical distribution
  • Superb communication and interpersonal skills

  • Experience with ERP and procurement tools (e.g., Coupa, SAP Ariba, Oracle)

This position is a salary grade 5 - 8 and ranges from $63,480-162,120.

Final determination of salary grade will be based on candidate's skills and experience, and base salary will be set within the applicable range according to job scope, responsibility and competitive market value.

This position is hybrid (onsite four days per week) for candidates who are in commuting distance to a Ford hub location or remote for non-local candidates.

Company: As Ford establishes a wholly owned subsidiary focused on Battery Energy Storage Systems, this role will initially be employed by Ford and is expected to transition to the subsidiary within one year.
