Job Description: Global Senior Manager, Environment, Health, Safety (EHS) & Sustainability (S)

The Global Senior Manager, Environment, Health, Safety, and Sustainability (EHS&S) is a critical leadership role within Fluke’s strategic and expanded Global EHS&S team. This position is responsible for developing, implementing, and continuously improving the Fluke Global EHS&S strategy across all company operations, including production and service.

A key focus of this role is ensuring global compliance with non-product environmental and sustainability regulations—distinct from product-related compliance. This includes driving measurable performance in areas such as packaging, supply chain traceability, emissions, waste, and global sustainability reporting to government regulatory bodies. The role also supports broader organizational compliance with international and domestic EHS&S regulations and leads initiatives to minimize environmental impact and advance sustainability across the value chain.

This position includes direct oversight of four North American facilities (Everett, WA) and dotted-line leadership across EMEA, APAC, and ROW production and service sites.

Key Responsibilities

  • EHS&S Management System Governance:
    • Develop, implement, and oversee a global EHS&S Management System that ensures conformance to ISO 9001 (Quality Management), ISO 14001 (Environmental Management), and ISO 45001 (Occupational Health & Safety Management) requirements.
    • Drive sustained continual improvement in occupational safety, injury reduction, environmental performance, and operational compliance metrics.
    • Ensure compliance with all applicable international, national, and local EHS&S laws, regulations, and internal standards.
    • Leverage historical EHS&S data to develop leading indicators to identify systemic risks, trends, and opportunities for prevention.
    • Develop and guide the implementation of pro-active and preventive EHS&S programs designed to reduce and control risks that drive the effective and sustained prevention of recordable incidents across all Fluke Global Operations, including Service.
    • Effectively and efficiently manage EHS&S audits, audit findings, risk assessments, and corrective action programs identifying true root causes aligned with effective corrective actions to prevent systemic recurrence of safety incidences across global sites to ensure ongoing compliance and certification readiness.
    • Partner with site, regional, and global Operations leadership to strengthen EHS&S culture, risk management discipline, and operational accountability.
  • Environmental and Sustainability Leadership:
    • Lead global compliance efforts for non-product environmental and sustainability regulations, including packaging, emissions, and waste directives.
    • Develop and execute corporate sustainability strategies aligned with Fortive’s ESG and net-zero objectives.
    • Manage programs for reduction of greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions, water use, and aligning revenue with sustainable outcomes. This role is critical in supporting the reduction of absolute Scope 1 and Scope 2 GHG Emissions by 50% by 2029 and reducing water use by 10% by 2029.
    • Align Fluke with Fortive Environmental, Social, and Governance (ESG) goals and sustainability reporting frameworks, as required, to ensure accurate annually GHG reporting. Note - Fortive’s sustainability reporting aligns with frameworks such as Global Reporting Initiative Index (GRI), Sustainability Accounting Standards Board Index (SASB), Task Force on Climate-Related Disclosures (TCFD), and the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (UN SDGs), and it reports its complete GHG profile and performance annually.
    • Partner with Supply Chain and Product Management teams to define and lead initiatives to advance sustainable sourcing, circular economy initiatives, and waste reduction programs.
    • Champion employee engagement and cultural change toward responsible business practices.
    • Own global compliance with non-product environmental regulations such as REACH, WEEE, Battery and Packaging Waste Directives, EUDR, PPWR, and global recyclability requirements.
    • Collaborate with Engineering, Quality, Product Management, and Procurement to integrate design-for-environment principles and ensure compliant material selection.
    • Monitor emerging global environmental regulations and proactively manage compliance risks.
  • Leadership and Collaboration:
    • Staff and lead a global team of EHS&S professionals.
    • Drive consistency across global production and service sites.
    • Prioritize global impact to maximize resource effectiveness.
    • Set departmental vision, strategy, and allocate resources to meet business objectives.
    • Foster collaboration, transparency, and shared accountability across all levels and departments.
    • Serve as SME for non-product environmental and packaging compliance.
    • Collaborate with legal, regulatory, engineering, and corporate affairs teams to interpret legislation and assess organizational impact.
    • Influence senior leaders to adopt risk-based decision making and prevention oriented EHS&S strategies globally.
    • Promote a culture of safety, accountability, and environmental stewardship
  • Performance Management
    • Manage operational and capital budgets.
    • Define and track global EHS&S KPIs using FBS tools, ensuring performance meets targets and root causes of incidents are addressed.
    • Own and define “return to green” plans for underperforming metrics.
    • Identify and lead measurable continuous improvement initiatives annually.
    • Prepare and present EHS&S performance reports to executive leadership.
