Basic Job Functions:

  • Maintenance Control Specialist is responsible for installing, 24/7 troubleshooting (Emergency Repair) and maintaining equipment which is used to monitor and control engineering systems, machinery and processes.
  • This includes Preventive, Predictive & Corrective Maintenance activities for all manufacturing production equipment such as electrical systems, PLC control panels, conveyors, instruments and engineering processes.
  • Ensure assigned PM - Job Plans and Work Orders from CMMS system are timely executed and complied with company PM requirements.
  • Work closely with relevant teams such as MES, MFG, Field Service Engineers, and NPI to support tool upgrade projects, and production line capacity expansion when required.
  • Provide professional technical to control technicians, maintenance team and drive improvements and leverage the effectiveness of a repair.

Essential Functions & Responsibilities

  • Perform daily, weekly, monthly PM and Pd.M. maintenance for Robots, Instrument, PLC, Scada, UPS and Electrical Panel of production tools as directed by supervisors. Make sure the PM workmanship and PM Green to Green are meeting the company requirements
  • Support Pit stop, Target change and major upgrade activities.
  • Carry the IR scan (electrical inspection) for live electrical panels.
  • Perform in house repair rebuild as CMMS scheduled.
  • Full understanding and implementation of LOTO
  • Propose and participate in Kaizen and others continuous improvement program in order to reduce maintenance cost, increase tool MA, spare parts…
  • Work with Equipment Engineer and ME to review the safety stock for spare and timely escalate for help if any spare shortage issues.
  • Provide 24/7 troubleshoot support, repair, and maintain all electrical control problems for all manufacturing equipment. Ensure they are in good condition all the time.
  • Installs, programs, inspects, troubleshoots, and adjusts electrical and mechanical equipment, instrumentation, and related information systems.
  • Performs tests and maintenance on mechanical, electrical, and instrumentation equipment; interprets readings and outputs of equipment; ensures proper functioning of equipment and related information systems.
  • Handle all major equipment downtime.
  • Assist MES with the setup, installation, and testing of all communication devices for PLC’s.
  • Work with OEM engineers to perform major PM or overhaul task for production tool when needed.
  • Ensure adherence to all safety procedures and good housekeeping standards
  • Develops and implements new electrical, control, robot preventative maintenance tasks, procedures, and schedules
  • Performs basic programming for utilities information systems; programs with ladder logic and relay logic; operates PLCs, RTUs and associated inputs/outputs; operates VFDs; performs telecommunications networking.
  • Initiates work orders pertaining to utilities equipment and information systems; ensures work orders are accurate and complete; performs record-keeping functions
  • Serves as a liaison to manufacturers, contractors, County personnel and other internal or external parties with respect to utilities equipment, instruments and related systems.
  • Conduct the root cause analysis and problem solving for every single equipment incident.
  • Timely report and escalate the equipment issue to relevant teams for higher support.
  • Record and report equipment failure history, provide equipment health trending for long term preventive action
  • Mentor and supervise junior technicians in the on-site service and repair of process equipment, and as necessary the maintenance of the equipment.
  • Assists in evaluating and certifying junior technicians for promotions and responsible for the training technician.
  • Perform other assignments as required.

Education & Experience:

  • Bachelor Degree in Automation, Mechatronic, Robotics, or Electrical/ Electronics Engineering.
  • Minimum 3-5 years of working experience in automation industry of manufacturing environment
  • (Or 2 years Associate Degree with 2 experience at First Solar at Specialist- Technical Equip I)
  • Proven good experience with electrical devices, PLC (Logic Controllers), SCADA, instrumentation, and specialize in Robotic, Camera vision and Rockwell automation systems and others.

    • Familiar with Industry Standards NETA, IEEE, NFPA
    • Familiar with various Motion Controllers/Actuators/AC/DC Drives, servomotors, Vision Systems (e.g. Cognex, Keyence)
    • Strong experience in troubleshooting control system issues electrical/electronic devices/pneumatic, instrumentation, inverter, robot, PLC/HMI.
    • Proven skills of programming Rockwell Automation Logix platform PLC’s, including ladder and function block diagram, control network configuration including ControlNet, DeviceNet and/or Ethernet.
    • Having basic knowledge of Cognex vision camera configuration, programming experience & basic knowledge of solar manufacturing processes.
    • Fully understanding of Electrical safety, LOTO (Lockout Tag Out) procedure and basic equipment safety requirements.
    • Full knowledge of Preventive Maintenance, Predictive Maintenance program.
    • Sound knowledge of manufacturing processes and equipment
    • Good knowledge of computer applications (Word, Excel, Outlook).
    • Ability to learn CMMS (Maximo, Oracle) system.
    • Must be capable of pulling report and entering data or pass downs into/from the CMMS/Maximo system.
    • Analytical Trouble-Shooting Skills
    • Ability to interpret technical manuals, drawing and suggest modification as required for drawing during trouble shooting/repairing of manufacturing equipment
    • Knowledge of spare management and identifications.

Physical Requirements:

  • Able to perform normal physical movements (e.g. standing & sitting for a long period, lifting, carrying and climbing) according to EHS ergonomic guidelines.
  • Will sit, stand or walk short distances for up to 12 hours per day.
  • Will climb stairs on an occasional basis.
  • Will lift up to 23 kg on an occasional basis, according to Minister of Health guidelines
  • Will lift up to 17 kg on a frequent basis, according to Minister of Health guidelines
  • Will push or pull up to 13 kg of force on an occasional basis.
  • Will push or pull up to 5 kg of force on a frequent basis.
  • Required to use hands to grasp, lift, handle, carry or feel objects on a frequent basis.
  • May reach above shoulder heights and below the waist on a frequent basis.
  • May stoop, kneel, or bend, on an occasional basis.
  • 20/40 vision in each eye (with or without correction) and the ability to distinguish between red, yellow and green is required.
  • Must be able to comply with all safety standards and procedures.
  • Ability to wear personal protective equipment is required (including but not limited to; steel toed shoes, gloves, safety glasses, hearing protection, protective jacket or apron and arm guards).
  • All associates working on the production floor may be required to wear a respirator at any given time and thus, the ability to wear a respirator is a condition of employment and continued employment (requires little or no facial hair).
