A big Utility Grid Research, Innovation, and Deployment (GRiD) team is looking for a talented Product Manager, Expert to help transform the electric utility industry from the inside. Join a high-performing team shaping the future of grid modernization, home electrification, and EV charging infrastructure.

This is a fast-paced, cross-functional role driving the delivery and field deployment of a new residential smart panel + EV charger grid-edge product suite —aimed at reducing customer costs and installation timelines. You’ll play a critical role in taking this early-stage product from concept through a full customer demonstration in 2026.

✨ What You’ll Do

  • Drive go-to-market activities for a new grid-edge hardware product suite.
  • Build and refine operational workflows for installation, inspection & commissioning.
  • Coordinate with supply chain teams and external vendors to ensure logistics readiness.
  • Align field deployment with utility safety, regulatory, and internal standards.
  • Build and manage a trusted installer/electrician network , including training & ongoing engagement.
  • Develop customer funnels and support marketing channels for residential adoption.
  • Serve as day-to-day contact for customers, installers, and product vendors.
  • Establish customer service workflows, troubleshooting processes, and escalation pathways.
  • Track and analyze deployment metrics to drive continuous improvement.
  • Create customer guides, FAQs, and support documentation.

🎯 What We’re Looking For

  • 8–9+ years in product management, product delivery, program management, operations, or related fields .
  • Experience in energy, utilities, EV charging, home electrification, construction, or tech .
  • Strong understanding of utility processes (service planning, permitting, field ops).
  • Experience building customer acquisition funnels and managing channel partners.
  • Proven ability to improve operational workflows or field deployment processes.
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
  • Highly organized, detail-oriented, able to thrive in ambiguity.
  • Passion for electrification, grid innovation, and DERs is a big plus.
  • Prior PG&E or electric utility experience strongly preferred.
  • Ability to travel locally for trainings and field visits.

📌 Additional Details

  • Hybrid role — team is onsite at Oakland General Office (OGO) ~60–80% of the time; minimum monthly onsite required.
  • Local Bay Area candidates preferred , but open to non-local.
  • Client laptop provided; interim personal device allowed.
  • Monthly cell & internet reimbursement available with manager approval.
