As Mergers & Acquisitions Manager, you will lead the full acquisition lifecycle for renewable energy assets and project rights, from sourcing and screening through due diligence, valuation, structuring, and closing. You act as the key interface between founders, investors, advisors, and external counterparties to ensure transactions are executed efficiently and create long-term value for the company.

As Mergers & Acquisitions Manager, you will lead the full acquisition lifecycle for renewable energy assets and project rights, from sourcing and screening through due diligence, valuation, structuring, and closing. You act as the key interface between founders, investors, advisors, and external counterparties to ensure transactions are executed efficiently and create long-term value for the company.
- Lead the end-to-end acquisition of renewable energy projects and project rights (e.g. solar, storage), including pipeline deals, single-asset transactions, and small portfolios.
- Build and maintain a proprietary deal pipeline by identifying, screening, and prioritising opportunities from developers, advisors, and market networks.
- Coordinate and manage cross-functional due diligence (technical, legal, financial, tax, regulatory) together with internal experts and external advisors, consolidating results into clear decision memos for the leadership team.
- Develop financial models and valuation analyses for target projects, including sensitivities, risk assessment, and value drivers, and translate these into concrete transaction structures and offer strategies.
- Negotiate key commercial terms (e.g. purchase price mechanisms, milestones, conditions precedent, earn-outs) together with management and legal counsel, ensuring alignment with the company’s risk-return requirements.
- Coordinate transaction documentation (e.g. SPAs, option agreements, shareholder agreements) with internal stakeholders and external legal advisors through to signing and closing.
- Ensure a clean handover of acquired projects to internal development, finance, and asset management teams, including documentation, assumptions, and key commercial obligations.
- Monitor the market for M&A trends, valuation benchmarks, regulatory developments, and competitive activity in the renewable energy sector, and feed these insights into the company’s acquisition strategy.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with project developers, advisors, banks, and investors to position the company as a preferred buyer in the renewable energy space.
- You have a M.Sc. degree in economics, business administration, industrial engineering, environmental engineering, renewable energy, or a related field.
- You have already gained experience in a fast-paced environment – for example in another startup or in consulting/banking for at least 12-24 months.
- You are highly motivated about renewable energy and eager to deepen your expertise.
- You work in a structured, reliable, and solution-oriented way.
- You have excellent communication skills and enjoy reaching out to people in an outgoing and personable manner.
- You are fluent in German.
