Salary: £16.98 per hour
Hours: Full-time – 45 hours per week

As an HGV Driver (Class 2) at FCC Environment, you will be responsible for the safe and efficient transport of waste from the Household Waste Recycling Centre (HWRC) sites across the district to the relevant disposal facilities. This is a full-time position, working 5 days per week.

What will you be doing?
- Safely transporting waste to specified tipping and disposal destinations
- Carrying out daily vehicle checks to ensure safe and legal operation
- Ensuring full compliance with Drivers’ Hours, Working Time Directive and tachograph legislation
- Downloading and managing tachograph data accurately
- Completing all required paperwork correctly and on time
- Reporting all health and safety incidents, near misses and hazards in line with company procedures
- Working in accordance with FCC policies, risk assessments and safe systems of work
- Following site rules and policies on FCC and third-party sites
- Undertaking any training required to support the role
What are we looking for?
- A valid Category C (Class 2) licence
- In date CPC and Tachograph Card
- RoRo experience (essential)
- Experience within waste, haulage or a similar environment
- Knowledge of driving regulations, including driver hours and tachograph use
- A strong safety-first mindset
- Good awareness of vehicle height, width and clearance restrictions
- Customer-focused with good communication skills
- Hard working, reliable and able to work independently or as part of a team
- A flexible and adaptable approach to work
