The Opportunity

Facility Innovations Group Inc is seeking an experienced Energy Project Manager to oversee commercial and utility energy projects from development through construction, commissioning, and closeout. Projects include solar PV, battery storage, microgrids, MEP systems, lighting, building automation, and energy-efficiency improvements. This position will manage multiple projects while coordinating engineers, subcontractors, suppliers, consultants, and customers. Energy efficiency project management experience is required.

How You Will Make an Impact

  • Manage energy projects from development and design through construction and closeout.
  • Build and manage project schedules, budgets, procurement, and construction milestones.
  • Conduct site visits to evaluate existing mechanical, electrical, HVAC, and energy systems.
  • Coordinate subcontractors, suppliers, engineers, consultants, and internal project teams.
  • Manage equipment procurement, deliveries, permitting, mobilization, and field construction.
  • Review project drawings, specifications, scopes, and bid documents.
  • Oversee solar, battery storage, microgrid, MEP, and energy-efficiency installations.
  • Coordinate permitting, utility interconnection, inspections, and commissioning.
  • Ensure projects meet safety, quality, financial, schedule, and technical requirements.
  • Maintain strong communication with customers and project stakeholders throughout the project lifecycle.

Required Qualifications & Experience

  • 3–6+ years of project management and/or engineering experience in energy projects.
  • Energy efficiency project management experience required.
  • Experience with solar PV, battery storage, microgrids, MEP systems, or similar energy projects.
  • Field experience with solar installation, startup, and commissioning.
  • Knowledge of the National Electrical Code (NEC) as it relates to solar PV.
  • Ability to read and interpret construction drawings, specifications, and technical documents.
  • Experience managing subcontractors, suppliers, schedules, and project budgets.
  • Strong communication, organization, and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to travel frequently to project sites nationwide.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or related field.
  • Experience with HelioScope, PVSyst, Energy Toolbase, eQUEST, or HOMER.
  • Experience with utility interconnection, permitting, and measurement & verification.
  • Commercial/industrial or utility-scale renewable energy experience.
