Key Responsibilities
Development & Interoperability:
· Collaborate with electrical installers and contractors to obtain, review, and validate installation estimates, ensuring accuracy, competitiveness, and compliance with national, regional, and local standards.
· Build and maintain relationships with electrical installers and contractors to ensure high-quality execution and reliable capacity for deployments across EV, marine, and aviation applications.
· Conduct interoperability testing with charging station management software networks, payment systems, and vehicle OEMs.
· Oversee charger commissioning and perform acceptance testing and validation of hardware and software functionality in the field.
Technical Troubleshooting:
· Diagnose and resolve issues across hardware, software (firmware updates, backend integration), and networks (cellular, Ethernet, Wi-Fi), ensuring high uptime and reliability.
· Serve as Tier-2/3 escalation point for customer and installer support.
· Document root causes and work with engineering to implement corrective actions, enhancing product performance.
Product Strategy & Market Surveillance:
· Act as the voice of the field in product development, feeding real-world performance, competitive intelligence, and customer feedback into the product roadmap.
· Monitor the competitive landscape (pricing, features, certifications) and provide structured market insights and actionable market intelligence.
· Ensure products meet evolving regulatory, interoperability, and incentive requirements (NEVI, CTEP, utility make-ready programs), including ISO 15118.
Business Development & Customer Engagement:
· Partner with sales and business development teams, providing technical expertise for customer pitches, project proposals, and RFP responses.
· Deliver technical training and onboarding for installers, site hosts, and channel partners to ensure successful deployments.
· Build and maintain long-term installer relationships to support recurring deployments and field service capacity.
Documentation & Process Management:
· Develop and maintain installation guides, troubleshooting manuals, and product FAQs.
· Standardize commissioning checklists, test protocols, and performance dashboards.
· Track and report KPIs on uptime, interoperability, and field reliability.
Qualifications:
· Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience in Electrical Engineering or related technical field.
· 3-5 years of experience in field engineering, product management, or technical support for EV charging, renewable energy, or industrial IoT systems.
· Strong knowledge of EVSE standards (OCPP 1.6/2.0.1, ISO 15118, UL/ETL) and power electronics fundamentals.
· Hands-on experience with commissioning, networking, and troubleshooting connected hardware/software systems.
· Excellent problem-solving skills, customer-facing communication, and cross-functional collaboration.
· Ability to travel (10%) to customer sites and manufacturing facilities.
