Are you passionate about environmental sustainability and eager to make a difference? We are Seeking volunteers to help and support the Extreme Hangout Team leading to COP31 in Turkey.
About The Opportunity to Volunteer:
We are seeking 2 dedicated and enthusiastic volunteers to join our Extreme Hangout team as Event Support Volunteers. In this role you will play a vital role in ensuring the smooth running of the event and creating a positive experience for all attendees.
Duration: 3 month
Location: Remote
Commitment: 20 hours per week
Opportunity Type: Volunteer
We are looking for help in these core areas:
- Sponsorship & Outreach: Assisting with research and initial outreach to potential corporate partners and sponsors who align with our mission.
- Speaker Coordination: Helping manage the "Stage Pipeline"—tracking speaker bios, coordinating schedules, and ensuring our thought leaders have everything they need.
- Website & Digital Management: Keeping our COP31 digital hub updated with the latest news, partner logos, and schedule changes.
- Administrative Excellence: General support including data entry, meeting coordination, and keeping our project management boards (and the team) on track.
- Event Coordination: Assisting the production team with logistics planning and administrative tasks essential for a high-traffic international event.
Who we are looking for:
- Prior experience in event support or similar roles is beneficial but not mandatory.
- People with a passion for environmental sustainability and a desire to contribute to its promotion.
- A recent graduate (Events managament qualification or similar)
- Ability to work collaboratively as part of a team and follow instructions from event organizers.
- Reliable and punctual, with a strong sense of responsibility towards assigned duties.

Launched in 2021 The Extreme Hangout became a leading fringe event at COP26 in Glasgow. We took over a repurposed ferry on the River Clyde, created a hub and delivered 11 days of inspiring conferences and evening entertainment. Over 6000 people came to hear and be motivated by more than 200 incredible speakers from Bear Grylls to Lily Cole, all of which delivered 5 million video impressions off the live stream and video on demand service.
