- Investments 17: Salaries typically range from $83,037 - $110,717 annually, based on qualifications and experiences, plus a performance-based incentive.

Within the Sustainable Infrastructure team part of the larger Investments team, the successful candidate will participate in the origination, structuring and delivering of tailored financial solutions to private sector companies and projects that contribute to the sustainable development of developing countries in the infrastructure sector (namely energy, transportation, water and sanitation, digital infrastructure) and to FinDev Canada's strategic objectives of job creation, women economic empowerment and climate change mitigation.
- A candidate with exposure to infrastructure project finance and credit analysis, structuring, documentation and transaction management who is committed to the principles of sustainable development.
- The candidate will be relied upon to contribute to the understanding of the customer’s needs, assess the credit risk and recommend risk mitigation strategies as appropriate to achieve the optimal balance between development impact and FinDev Canada’s business requirements. The role will work closely with Investment Officers, Development Impact and Environmental, Social and Governance specialists to ensure that transactions achieve FinDev Canada’s objectives.
- As part of a new organization, the successful candidate will play a role in the evolution and continuous improvement of FinDev Canada’s practices and processes.
- Support the origination and identification of opportunities in the Sustainable Infrastructure field within the domestic, local and international investment communities (sponsors, commercial banks, multilateral and bilateral development finance institutions)
- Structure and deliver tailored solutions for financing Sustainable Infrastructure projects (project finance structures under Public Private Partnerships, corporate loans, bond issues...) Contribute to the evaluation and preparation of investment proposals including performance of due diligence and analysis of highly complex and/or high-risk transactions within specified parameters, policies and guidelines
- Develop and utilize financial models for valuation, risk assessment and cash flow profiling purposes
- Research and keep current on various relevant sector and industry trends in Sustainable Infrastructure
- Participate in relevant events and conferences
- Be a key resource to all the individuals on the Investments Team
Must-haves
- Completion of an MBA, CA, CFA, CMA or CGA (or combination of education and experience)
- Minimum of 3 years of experience in project finance, commercial lending, investment banking or similar in the Sustainable Infrastructure field. Will consider internal candidates with equivalent experience, including demonstrated outstanding financial modeling skills
- Strong financial and credit skills, especially on project finance; sound business judgment and demonstrated ability to structure a variety of financial instruments (debt as a priority but also equity)
- Excellent financial analysis, credit and modelling skills, and ability to read and understand business plans
- Strong business judgment in identifying and assessing risk
- Client relationship and negotiation skills, track record and ability to focus on client needs effectively
- Strong interpersonal and leadership skills, ability to work successfully in multicultural teams and across boundaries and to build networks across the region
- Excellent organizational, administrative, and time management skills
- Proven ability to work independently and deliver promptly and efficiently under pressure and meet tight deadlines
- Strong oral and written communications skills
- Willingness to travel
- Experience: Emerging market, infrastructure background, international and/or commercial banking experience
- Language Proficiency: Bilingualism in both official languages (English and French). Fluency in Spanish is a plus.
