support the VP in driving the financial strategy, structuring, and execution of project finance
transactions across the company’s renewable energy portfolio. development and execution of financing strategies for utility-scale and distributed energy
projects from development through commercial operation, ensuring alignment with the
Project Financing Strategy: Develop and lead comprehensive project financing strategies including debt, equity, tax equity, and hybrid financing structures to support development, construction, and operation of renewable energy assets.
Tax Equity Structuring & Execution: Oversee all aspects of tax equity financing, including managing relationships with tax equity investors, structuring partnership flips and sale-leaseback transactions, and ensuring compliance with IRS guidelines and market best practices.
Manage relationships with financial institutions, investors, sponsors, and tax equity partners to secure funding and optimize capital structure.
Oversee negotiation and execution of term sheets, financing agreements, and closing documentation. Lead internal and external teams through due diligence, structuring, and closing processes.
Risk Management: Identify and mitigate financial risks associated with renewable energy projects, including credit, interest rate, and market risks.
Leadership & Collaboration: Collaborate closely with Development, Finance, Legal, Engineering, and Operations teams to assess project viability and support transaction readiness. Provide mentorship and leadership to finance and investment teams.
Financial Modeling & Valuation: Review and validate complex financial models used for project valuation, return analysis, and scenario planning.
Regulatory and Market Insight: Monitor industry trends, policy changes, and capital market dynamics to inform strategy and enhance deal competitiveness.
Advise the HQ on capital planning, M&A opportunities, and portfolio strategy, helping shape long-term corporate growth.
Minimum 8 years of experience in project finance, investment banking, or renewable energy finance, with at least 4 years in an executive leadership role.
Proven experience structuring and closing tax equity transactions
Deep understanding of tax equity instruments, partnership flips, inverted leases, and other federal tax credit monetization structures.
Strong network of tax equity investors and financial counterparties.
Mastery of financial modeling and return optimization related to tax-driven deal
structures.
Experience working with counsel and advisors on compliance with market standards for tax equity financing and project financing.
Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or related field; MBA, CPA, or CFA is strongly preferred.
