Client Services Technician (EV Charging / IT)
NOTE: Applicants should already reside in the Columbus, OH area.
An exciting opportunity for a General Technician to contribute and specialize in several areas, including Electric Vehicle Charging, Commercial Solar, Battery Energy Storage (BESS) and Information Technology (IT). This position will present an opportunity to learn, acquire new skills and contribute in these areas, with a specific focus on EV charging stations.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
- Installation Services - perform basic installation for certain products or equipment that you may be trained on or certified to install.
- Commission / Configuration Services - perform remote or onsite commissioning of EV charging stations to a network, (i.e. Cellular LTE or WiFi).
- Repair / Remediation Services - provide Remote and Onsite troubleshooting and repair services for products under warranty or maintenance. This will include support and repair for EV charging stations, as well as other equipment and products. Carry out reactive maintenance, fault diagnosis and resolution in a timely manner.
- Preventive Maintenance - perform preventive services on certain equipment, including EV charging stations, in alignment with manufacturer best practices and documentation.
- Incident Management (NOC) - manage and oversee support tickets, inclusive of opening support requests and managing all stages of the request from inception to closure. This may include utilizing provided tools to monitor the status or health of installed EV charging stations or other equipment, including sites which EVunited may manage and operate.
- Prepare / Review Statement of Work (SOW) - collaborate with our Sales Team and Electrical Partners to define the scope of services for certain projects, and ultimately prepare a customer facing statement of work for our customers to review and accept. You may be requested to draft or write the statement of work, or review subcontractor statement of works and price quotes for accuracy and adherence to best practices and conformance to EVunited and industry standards.
- Assist with obtaining price estimates and statement of work from vendors or subcontractor partners that may assist with project installs or support services
- Perform, Schedule or Assist with Onsite or Virtual Site Assessments to further evaluate scope of services and work to be performed. You may work in conjunction with a subcontractor partner or licensed electrician to complete the assessment.
- Site Design Support - Prepare CAD or similar Illustration Drawing(s)
- Work closely with our project manager, and in certain instances assist with the coordination of resources to perform certain services (i.e. installation, repair, etc.)
- Project Team Member - as a member of the team for certain projects, you will be expected to work closely, effectively and professionally with all team members, which may include Project Manager(s) / Sales / Utility Service Providers / Vendor Representatives / Subcontractors / Customers and others. You may also be requested to update project plans, or provide status updates to the project manager.
- Customer Care - Extend exceptional customer service. Strong Communication Skills (written and verbal), with an appreciation for providing exceptional customer care and service is a requirement and expectation of this position. A strong appreciation and passion for providing a high level of customer service is a necessary trait and skillset for this position.
- Cellular Site Surveys - you may be requested to oversee, coordinate or perform a cellular coverage site assessment, as to verify that the signal strength is adequate and within range to support the successful commissioning and activation of an EV charging station.
TRAINING / LEARNING OPPORTUNITY
- Primary Focus: Train and Achieve Certifications related to installing and supporting EV Charging stations (Level 2 AC and DC Fast Chargers)
- Other Learning Areas and Competencies: Data Networking (switching), Video Surveillance, Commercial Solar, Wireless LAN
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
Required:
- High School Diploma, College / Associates Degree, Technical/Vocational or Equivalent
Preferred (certifications not required, but experience or recent training preferred):
- Certifications (active and current) in the specialized areas of Data Networking, Wireless LAN, Commercial Solar, Electric Vehicle Charging (Level 2 or DC Fast Charging).
WORKING ENVIRONMENT
- Work from home / field services / company office / onsite at customer premises
- Job will require local and regional travel by automobile. Air Travel will be seldom, but occasionally needed for training or to support a specific project
- On-Demand or Online Self-Paced Training. In certain instances, you may be required to travel to complete certain trainings, as required by the manufacturer or to achieve certification.
