As part of the Sustainability Team, you’ll work across the business to turn strategy into action – helping shape how EVT responds to climate change, meets new reporting requirements and creates experiences that our better for people and planet.
We’re proud to have externally validated emissions reduction goals, including a commitment to reduce our Scope 1 and Scope 2 emissions by 50% and Scope 3 emissions by 25% by 2030 (from a 2023 base year).
About the Role
We are looking for a versatile, hands-on Sustainability Specialist to join our team and deliver real sustainability outcomes across EVT.
This is a great opportunity to build your career in sustainability with practical experience in reporting, data and program delivery, cross-functional working with teams across the business and exposure to senior leaders.
Key Responsibilities
Reporting
- Coordinate data collection, analysis and reporting to support successful delivery of regulatory reporting.
- Draft key sustainability reporting content for external and internal reporting requirements.
- Monitor changes to, and maintain team knowledge of, regulatory requirements e.g. Australian Sustainability Reporting Standards (ASRS) and voluntary reporting standards e.g. Science-based Target Initiative (SBTi), Greenhouse Gas Protocol (GHGP).
- Assist in implementing and tracking sustainability initiatives such as energy efficiency upgrades, waste reduction programs and Sustainable Tourism Certification.
- Support training and awareness campaigns for staff and guests on sustainability practices and collaborate with key stakeholders to embed sustainability practices into daily operations.
- Support internal and external communications to engage our team and our customers, and champion sustainable practice across the Group.
- Work cross-functionally with departments such as Operations, Procurement, Marketing, and Risk & Compliance.
- Support effective collaboration by tracking actions, following up on outcomes and keeping stakeholders informed.
- Assist in preparing slide decks and communications for internal and external stakeholders.
- Strong data skills, with confidence using Excel for analysis and reporting e.g. pivot tables, queries, formulas.
- Clear communicator, excellent written and verbal communication skills, able to absorb and translate complex technical concepts for both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
- Comfort stepping into undefined problem spaces to create clarity, structure and momentum.
- Team oriented, with experience in contributing and working with diverse stakeholders to achieve shared goals and the aptitude to unblock issues and accelerate delivery.
- Passion for sustainability, with the curiosity and agility to grow in the role.
- Bachelor’s degree in Economics, Accounting, Engineering, Architecture, Finance or similar
