Position Summary:
The VP of Site Development is responsible for leading all site development activities through the point of construction handoff. This includes market strategy, site identification, real estate acquisition, due diligence, and managing the team of site developers who drive the pipeline forward. The role requires high collaboration with network planning, site design, engineering, construction, finance, legal, and operations to ensure every site is fully vetted and aligned with company standards. The focus is on building and guiding a high performing development team while delivering a robust portfolio of approved sites that are ready for construction.

Position Summary:
The VP of Site Development is responsible for leading all site development activities through the point of construction handoff. The role requires high collaboration with network planning, site design, engineering, construction, finance, legal, and operations to ensure every site is fully vetted and aligned with company standards. The focus is on building and guiding a high performing development team while delivering a robust portfolio of approved sites that are ready for construction.
Responsibilities:
- Lead, manage and grow host partnerships—ensuring strong collaboration, execution resulting in hundreds of new sites added to the EVgo network.
- Build and lead the team overseeing the full lifecycle of activity from site assignment through site selection, approval, contracting, and energization.
- Build and maintain trusted relationships within partner organizations to ensure compliance with long-term agreements, unlock new opportunities, and align shared goals for network expansion and performance.
- Turn portfolio agreements into a focused, execution-ready site pipeline. Prioritize the strongest opportunities, stay ahead of bottlenecks, and clear blockers quickly to keep sites moving toward activation.
- Establish a consistent business rhythm with each partner, including recurring reviews, deployment scorecards, and performance dashboards to maintain alignment and visibility across both organizations.
- Collaborate with internal Legal, Site Design engineering, Construction, and Operations teams to coordinate contract execution, issue resolution, and predictable project delivery.
- Monitor portfolio performance and develop data-driven insights to identify risks, trends, and opportunities for acceleration or improvement—enhancing both internal efficiency and partner satisfaction.
- Create repeatable frameworks and tools that improve collaboration, speed up execution, and make EVgo simpler and more efficient to work with.
- Provide regular reports and insights to leadership on partner health, portfolio performance, market trends and team performance that could impact deployment pacing or strategic direction.
- Lead, mentor and support team members, reinforcing a culture of accountability, collaboration, and continuous improvement within the Partner Management and Site Development ecosystem.
- Typically requires a minimum of 15 years of related experience with a Bachelor’s degree; or 12 years with a Master’s degree; or 8 years with a PhD; or equivalent related professional experience, including leadership in site development, real estate, strategic partnerships, or large-scale infrastructure deployment, with demonstrated ownership of multi-market strategies and complex external partnerships.
- Strong expertise in partnership lifecycle management, including acquisition, onboarding, performance monitoring, and optimization.
- Exceptional leadership, communication, interpersonal, and negotiation skills, with a proven ability to influence and inspire stakeholders at all levels.
- Strategic thinker with an analytical approach and demonstrated capability to assess complex situations and devise effective solutions.
- Proven track record managing large, multi-site partnerships or national accounts.
- Experience in building and managing high-performing teams, with the ability to foster collaboration and drive results.
- Experience collaborating with real estate, construction, or development teams to move
- projects from approval to activation.
- Strong analytical, communication, and relationship-building skills with executive and
- operational stakeholders.
- High attention to detail and accountability in tracking progress, performance, and deliverables.
- Ability to thrive in a fast-moving environment and manage multiple priorities simultaneously.
- Experience with CRM systems (Salesforce preferred) Mapping systems and reporting tools for partner management.
- Highly analytical and data-driven mindset with a keen eye for detail and the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
