What you'll be doing

As a Senior Manager of Mobile Development, you will be managing teams of developers responsible for mobile applications development and design.

You are technically credible, have built great mobile apps in the past, and know the details of what engineers work on. Your time will be spent on hiring a world-class team, putting engineers and teams in the best position to succeed. You will own the delivery of product commitments and are always looking to improve productivity. You will also set and implement policies related to application quality standards and testing.

You will work from our office in Amsterdam and report to Everon SVP Cloud & Mobile Engineering.


Your main responsibilities will include, but aren't limited to:

  • Build, lead, motivate and inspire mobile development teams to deliver best in class solutions
  • Manage engineering resources ensuring that teams are always focusing on the most important things and communicate priorities to create shared understanding of goals
  • Collaborate with other parts of the organisation to create engineering plans including timeframes, milestones and quality, reliability and performance goals
  • Make decisions and provide recommendations regarding the mobile application technology stack, new designs, integrations, features, architecture, and infrastructure
  • Encourage teams to understand and apply UI and UX principles for mobile development
  • Hire, retain and grow engineering talent

What you'll bring to the team

Technical Skills/ Hard Skills

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or related field and/or equivalent work experience
  • Minimum 5+ years of Android or iOS experience, including security concepts. This role would still require occasional hands-on involved in the development itself so you should be excited about jumping between strategic and hands-on involvement until the team is fully in place.
  • Extensive people-management experience, growing and coaching teams
  • Familiarity of new technologies and know where it's appropriate to use them
  • Demonstrable familiarity with cloud (GCP preferable) and cloud architecture
  • You're an expert in designing and building mobile apps

  • You're an expert in designing and building mobile apps
  • Strong communication and articulation skills in English (and preferably in other languages). Willing to work with a multicultural team
  • Able to make quick informed decisions under pressure and prioritise appropriately based on urgency
  • Experience with agile, lean practices and methodologies
  • Able to execute defined processes as well as provide constructive feedback for improvement
