Chief of Staff (Commercial Strategy & CDD Focus)

About the Role


Our client is a fast-growing advisory and venture-building platform supporting early-stage climate-tech and environmental-impact startups.

They work closely with founders from Seed to Series A, providing hands-on commercial expertise, fractional commercial executives, go-to-market support, and fundraising advisory. The business operates at the intersection of strategy consulting, venture building, and early-stage investing.


They are now looking to hire a Chief of Staff to work directly with the founders and leadership team.


Key Responsibilities


  • Lead and structure commercial due diligence (CDD) on prospective startups: market sizing, customer/partner validation, competitive landscape analysis, and business model assessment.
  • Serve as a strategic partner to the founders—supporting priority setting, operational planning, and internal process optimisation.
  • Coordinate workflows across client advisory projects, commercial-exec placements, and investor-facing deliverables.
  • Prepare commercial assessments, investment memos, and strategic recommendations.
  • Support client fundraising: pitch-deck development, commercial KPIs, go-to-market validation, and narrative building.
  • Manage internal reporting, OKRs, analytics, and performance tracking.
  • Oversee onboarding, scoping, and quality control for all project engagements.
  • Act as the central communication hub between founders, clients, commercial executives, and investors.


Candidate Profile


  • 3–6+ years in commercial due diligence, strategy consulting, corporate development, or venture.
  • Strong analytical capability across market research, business model evaluation, segmentation, and competitive analysis.
  • Experience with technology, industrial innovation, or climate-tech is beneficial but not required.
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder-management skills.
  • Highly organised, structured, and effective at managing multiple concurrent workstreams.
  • Thrives in fast-paced, ambiguous, entrepreneurial environments.
  • Proactive, resourceful, and comfortable acting as a thought-partner to senior leadership.
