About the Platform

This is an established, multi billion dollar alternative investment platform that invests across private equity and infrastructure. It has investment teams in the US and Europe. Energy transition and industrial infrastructure are core focus areas for the firm. They aren't a side theme or a fund sleeve.

The approach is disciplined. The firm backs real assets and businesses where the move to cleaner, more reliable and more efficient energy also improves the economics. It underwrites to infrastructure and private equity returns and doesn't rely on subsidies or a green premium. Sustainability and value creation are built into underwriting from day one, supported by technical specialists and operating partners with long industry careers.

Coverage runs across North America and Western Europe. The team can follow a platform into new geographies as it scales, including cross border expansion where the growth thesis supports it.

About the Infrastructure Team

The infrastructure team invests in long life, capital heavy assets with contracted or semi contracted cash flows. Many of these assets are still being developed or built, or haven't yet reached full capacity. That's where specialist underwriting and hands on ownership add the most value.

The team is small and senior. One group owns origination, underwriting, financing, construction oversight and asset management, so nothing gets handed between deal and operations teams across the life of an asset.

The team's coverage spans three core areas:

  • Power and energy infrastructure, including on site and behind the meter generation, grid connected sites, storage, and repowering or conversion of legacy power assets.
  • Digital infrastructure and powered land, including sites with secured power capacity for data centers and other large energy users, and the generation and interconnection that support them.
  • Industrial and low carbon assets, including facilities and platforms that make industrial processes, fuels and materials cheaper, cleaner or more reliable.

Deals are usually control or joint control investments. Many are brownfield conversions of existing industrial sites, carve outs of non core assets from large corporates, or development and construction stage projects built with experienced developers. Platform building is central to how the team works. First assets become platforms for follow on sites, capacity expansions and bolt on acquisitions, and the deal team stays involved in each of those after the first close. It isn't handed to a separate asset management function.

Because the team is lean, Associates sit close to decisions. From the first day of a live process they own the model, write IC materials, and coordinate directly with technical, environmental, regulatory, legal and financing advisors. That continues after close through construction milestones, offtake negotiations and board reporting.

The Role

You'll join as an Associate and work on live transactions from screening through diligence, financing, close and asset management. Your responsibility will grow over time. The role is based in Boston.

Responsibilities

  • Build and own detailed financial models from a blank page. This covers development and construction phase models, operating forecasts, JV and partnership structures, tax credit and tax equity mechanics, GP/LP waterfalls, and downside cases specific to the asset and its offtake.
  • Run due diligence workstreams from start to finish. You'll coordinate commercial, technical, environmental, regulatory and legal advisors, and work with utilities and grid operators on interconnection and power capacity.
  • Structure and negotiate project and acquisition financing with lenders, covering debt sizing, coverage ratios, covenants, DSRA and construction facilities.
  • Prepare and present investment committee materials: market mapping, power and offtake analysis, competitive positioning, risk assessment, and the core thesis behind each deal.
  • Source deals and map sectors through developers, operators, utilities, corporates and advisors, adding to the team's proprietary pipeline.
  • After close, work with management on construction delivery, capacity expansion, offtake contracting, follow on sites and board reporting.
  • Help raise co investment and syndication capital with LPs and strategic partners when it's needed.

Requirements

  • 4 to 7 years of relevant experience. That usually means investment banking, infrastructure advisory or project finance, followed by 1 to 3 years in a principal investing role in infrastructure, energy, real assets or industrials.
  • Strong modeling skills shown on live deals, especially development stage and contracted cash flow assets, not only stabilized businesses.
  • Direct exposure to at least one of: power generation, energy infrastructure, data centers or digital infrastructure, industrial facilities, or infrastructure style real estate.
  • Experience of the financing side of a deal, including debt sizing and negotiating with lenders.
  • The judgment to spot which assumption a case really depends on, whether that's the power price, input cost, offtake counterparty or construction timeline, and the confidence to defend that view at IC.
  • A real interest in the energy transition, with a commercial view of which projects will actually earn a return.
  • A degree from a leading university. An MBA, CFA progress or a technical or engineering background is valued but not required.
  • Existing right to work in the US.

Why Join

  • Full cycle exposure to infrastructure investing on a platform where energy transition is a core strategic priority.
  • Ownership on the principal side: you lead the model and shape the thesis, rather than supporting someone else's view.
  • You'll learn how industrial and energy assets are actually built, powered and financed by working with technical specialists and operating partners, not only through advisors' reports.
  • A growing infrastructure strategy on an established investment platform, with a clear path to Senior Associate and Vice President.
  • Direct access to partners, developers and management teams, which builds investment judgment instead of pure execution mileage.
  • Competitive base and bonus based on individual ability rather than fixed tenure.
