About the Role:

As the Business Development Manager, North America you are responsible for sales through large direct accounts and appointed reseller and distributors, to meet sales quota. The Business Development Manager will also be responsible for creating new business opportunities as well as nurturing and developing existing partnerships and customers. This is an individual contributor role that will report into the Director of Sales for North America.

Main responsibilities but not limited to:

  • Act as a first point of contact for the reseller and service provider partners in North America
  • Help in developing new customers and new initiatives for existing customers
  • Develop and maintain a customer and prospect database
  • Develop, expand, and maintain the reseller and partner channel, create cross-sell and deep-sell opportunities
  • Create and execute account plans
  • Support clients in sales activities
  • Follow up on new leads and referrals from marketing activities
  • Identify sales prospects and contact these and other accounts as assigned
  • Build lasting and strong relationships with partners and customers and keep client knowledge up-to-date
  • Closely coordinate company executive involvement with partner and end-user customer management as appropriate
  • Respond to and follow up sales and information inquiries by email, telephone, and personal visits
  • Create appropriate propositions based on sales and acquisition plans
  • Participate in creating successful implementation plans of new business initiatives and grandfather them in the sales processes
  • Develop and maintain sales tools, training and other instruments to ensure successful sales
  • Organize product and sales training
  • Develop new sales strategies and evaluate their effectiveness in the market.
  • Prepare presentations, proposals and sales contracts
  • Provide sales forecasts
  • Analyze and anticipate market developments from a commercial point of view
  • Monitor and report on activities and provide relevant management information
  • Liaise and attend meetings with other company functions necessary to perform duties

What you'll bring to the team

Technical Skills/ Hard Skills

  • 3+ years' experience in working with distributors and/or an indirect sales mode and experience with short sales cycles
  • 1+ years' experience developing large direct customers (longer sales cycle)
  • Experience with B2B sales
  • Experience with sales CRM(s)
  • Experience in different sales techniques
  • In-depth knowledge or willingness and ability to quickly acquire knowledge about EV charging market
  • Affinity with renewable technologies, product and service innovation
  • Hands-on mentality
  • Ability to make market positioning and value proposition tangible
