Who we're looking for

We are looking for a Web Developer to join the Growth & Performance team within the Marketing Department at EVBox HQ in Amsterdam. We seek an individual who is an excellent problem solver and who has good collaboration and communication skills.

What you'll be doing

As a Web Developer, you will be responsible for developing and optimizing the

multi-language sites of EVBox evbox.com. On a day-to-day basis, you will work within a multidisciplinary team together with a Front-end Developer, UI Designer, Content Specialist and Product Owner launching the newest and latest features to our website and constantly improving and optimizing the online experience for our end users. The role is currently split between 80% Front-end development and 20% Back-end development.

Your main responsibilities will include, but are not limited to:

Working alongside our UI designer to bring new feature designs to life

Developing front-end website architecture together with our front-end developer within a CMS (Content Management System) called Modx Revolution using HTML, SCSS/CSS, JS/JQuery and VueJS

Ensuring cross-platform and cross-browser optimization and responsiveness for mobile and desktop devices

Improving our Modx CMS to make it easier to use for the editors

Supporting and providing guidance to our Content Editors within our CMS

Optimizing the website to improve the page speed and performance of our websites

Maintaining our codebase and writing documentation when required

Working closely together with experts at our website development agency to solve specialist web development challenges

What we ask from you

1-2 years of experience in similar role

Proficiency with fundamental front-end languages such as HTML, CSS and JavaScript / jQuery.

Knowledge of CSS preprocessor scripting language such as SCSS is beneficial as well as an understanding of the BEM (Block Element Modifier) naming convention

Experience working on website development and developing for a CMS

Familiarity with JavaScript frameworks such as React or VueJS.

Familiarity with PHP server-side language

Familiarity with MySQL database technology

Knowledge of Restful APIs and JSON

Strong organizational and time management skills.

Excellent problem-solving skills

Good collaboration and communication skills, ability to work together in a multi-disciplinary team

Fluency in English is required
