We're looking for a Packaging Engineer to join our team in Amsterdam. To be successful in this role you should be passionate about the development of packaging and printed materials, and managing projects from initiation to manufacture up until delivery. Key in this process is that you assure all packaging and other printed materials are delivered within budget and on time to meet start of production at our various assembly partners, to ultimately deliver our products around the globe in mint condition while providing the best unboxing experience.

As a Packaging Engineer based in Amsterdam office you will be part of the New Production Introduction team that is responsible for delivering new products and services to the market through seamless alignment between internal and external stakeholders .

What you'll be doing
You will work on modifications of packaging and printed materials for existing as well as developing packaging for new products and components that are functional, protective, and cost-effective. You will work from our office in Amsterdam and report to the Head of New Product Introduction.
Your main responsibilities will include, but aren't limited to:
Manage new packaging initiatives from initiation, design, development, production, and delivery.
Develop packaging briefs to assure the packaging is delivered according to specification requirements.
Work closely with the EVBox design studio for artwork creation and delivery.
Actively drive down costs related to packaging designs and material usage.
Execute design verification tests, packing trials, generate test reports, packing instructions and provide material specifications after packaging sign-off.
Create a project planning and meet timelines for design, sampling, production until first delivery into the warehouse or factory.
Work closely with packaging design agencies, suppliers, and cross-functional teams to meet global new product launch dates.
Provide feedback during the request process in terms of budget, time, and production feasibility.
Create homogeneity across all packaging and other printed material that express the EVBox brand.
Introduce a system for packaging requests and version control.
Travel to vendor and manufacturing locations for the support of project activities.

What you'll bring to the team
Technical Skills/ Hard Skills
Bachelor degree Packaging Engineer
Minimum of 3 years experience in packaging development in the field of consumer electronics
Have good knowledge of different production and printing related to carton, Polyethylene, paper, and plastics
Experience in working with global and cross-functional internal and external teams
Experience with programs for CAD, App-V, MSI, and ThinApp
Development of components and specifications
We want you to demonstrate
Critical thinking, problem-solving, and mathematics skills
Be able to multitask and project management
Proven communication skills in English
Demonstrate planning and team management skills
If you have any of these, even better
Dutch is a plus
