To help us achieve our mission, we're looking for a Data (Privacy) Counsel to join our young, ambitious and internationally diverse Legal Team. Our ideal candidate excels in dealing with data (in its broad sense) and privacy matters in a complex technology and knows how to balance compliance and protection with data enablement for the benefit of the company and its commercial activities.

In this role:

You will serve as Data (Privacy) Counsel for all legal entities of EVBox group globally and have the opportunity to gain hands-on experience, dealing with data governance and data protection in the growing EV charging industry.

You will be a key partner to our product development teams to enhance the product, help improve product reliability and advance business goals in line with our strategy, company values and applicable laws. You will also have full ownership of the privacy compliance program and collaborate with different stakeholders across the company to operationalize privacy initiatives and implement controls.

Your responsibilities:

  • Partner with business in developing data-driven solutions to improve our customer experience and advance business goals.
  • Provide pragmatic advice to product development teams and other stakeholders to meet strategic goals and business interests.
  • Advise cross-functional teams on developing a comprehensive, global data governance program.
  • Develop, implement and maintain a comprehensive privacy program to ensure compliance with the GDPR and other laws (data mapping, third party reviews, DPIAs; mandatory registers, DPAs etc.).
  • Create scalable solutions to establish privacy controls embedded into the activities throughout EVBox group.
  • Cooperate closely and proactively with key internal stakeholders, monitoring compliance, identifying the need for action.
  • Manage data subject requests, data breaches, supervisory authorities' inquiries.
  • Develop and conduct trainings on data protection compliance for employees.
  • Manage data protection audits and follow up on findings.
  • Monitor and follow up on applicable laws, regulations, policies and market developments in data protection.

What we expect from you:

  • Master's degree in law, preferably specialised in privacy and data protection.
  • Minimum 4-5 years of work experience in a similar role, preferably in a multinational environment.
  • Solid knowledge of EU data protection legislation (GDPR, ePrivacy).
  • Experience in building and operating a data privacy program.
  • Good understanding of technical and information security concepts
  • Exceptional organisational-, project management-, and multitasking skills.
  • Intellectual curiosity and a willingness to learn.
  • Strong integrity and sound judgement.
  • Excellent communication skills in English and clear communication-, negotiation-, and interpersonal skills to establish and maintain effective cross-functional working relationships, customer centrism, consulting skills and service-solution-oriented mindset.
  • Aptitude to thrive working in a fast-paced, high-pressure, entrepreneurial environment.
  • Be a team player with the ability to work effectively, collaboratively, and cross-functionally, as well as think creatively.
  • Get the job done in the right way, ensuring that delivery is done in a collaborative, positive and constructive manner.

If you have any of these, even better:


  • Knowledge of U.S. privacy laws
  • CIPP/E, CIPM or similar certification
  • Experience with OneTrust
  • Experience in the software industry
