The European Climate Foundation (ECF) is a major philanthropic initiative working to help tackle the climate crisis by fostering the transition to a net-zero emission society at the national, European and global level. We support around 700 partner organisations to carry out activities that drive urgent and ambitious policy in support of the objectives of the Paris Agreement, contribute to the public debate on climate action and help deliver a socially responsible transition to a net-zero economy and sustainable society in Europe and around the world.

About The Role
The ECF Land Use and Food Systems Programme works with a wide range of partners in civil society, think tanks, politics, business and academia to support positive & inclusive action on Land Use and Food Systems throughout Europe. We work to build political will for more ambitious action on climate change in this sector; and to develop solutions to the policy, social and practical challenges in line with climate and broader sustainability objectives. The team is now looking for a highly committed and energetic intern to support the programme during the coming months. The internship is offered for six months, starting as soon as possible. The selected candidate will be based in Berlin or Brussels, work closely with the Land Use and Food Systems team on a range of tasks.

Key responsibilities
- Monitoring of the news related to Land Use and Food Systems;
- Research and writing up of regular notes and analysis to help the team explore new areas of work: literature's review, stakeholders mapping, etc.;
- Attending events & reporting;
- Conceptual assistance for workshops and other potential events;
- Helping with project administration, team meetings & preparation of presentations.
The following attributes are sought by applicants:
- A genuine interest in the mission and values of the organisation;
- Currently enrolled in a Master's program (or equivalent) or shortly after graduation of a Master's program in a field of relevance to climate policy (political science, economy, environment, communications);
- Good knowledge of the main discussions around climate, land use and food and/or EU policy-making processes;
- Strong interest in political and societal issues and debates, at national and European level;
- Ability to take initiative and be a creative problem solver;
- Very good writing skills and strong ability to synthesize complex information;
- Enthusiastic personality, with a positive, can-do attitude;
- Strong administrative and computer skills (PowerPoint, Excel);
- Excellent command of the English languages (both spoken and written).
- A flexible work environment and a space to develop and challenge yourself;
- An excellent work atmosphere and a nice office space in the heart of Berlin or Brussels;
- A six-month internship.
