About our client

We are actively hunting for a gritty, hyper-commercial entrepreneur to co-found a high-growth residential solar financing platform in Malaysia alongside a premier regional institutional venture builder.

Our partner fund collaborates with proven operators to build highly scalable ventures designed to reach $100M USD in sustained, high-margin revenue while driving massive carbon abatement across Southeast Asia. Modeled closely after two highly successful, market-dominant sister portfolio companies currently running in the region, this dedicated vehicle is positioned to capture the immense Malaysian market from the ground up.

This is an authentic 0-to-1 founding role. As the incoming executive, you will inherit exhaustive in-market findings, pitch directly to the Investment Committee on June 18th, and launch execution immediately post-funding. You are not managing a rigid corporate outpost; you are stepping in as a high-equity entrepreneur backed by a powerhouse institutional fund.


The role

Initially onboarding as the Country Launcher to spearhead market entry and anchor initial strategic loops, you will naturally transition into the full Chief Executive Officer (CEO) role as operations and local headcount scale. You will fully own the venture’s end-to-end strategy, operational execution, and commercial P&L:

  • Go-To-Market Execution: Take a thoroughly validated, pre-vetted marketplace concept and turn it into a dominant, fast-moving consumer leader in Malaysia.
  • Financial & Commercial Stewardship: Take full ownership of the P&L, construct and defend robust unit economics, optimize margins, and articulate commercial decisions with crystalline clarity to the board.
  • Strategic Credit Partnerships: Leverage and build deep, institutional relationships with Malaysian commercial banks, consumer lenders, and fintech finance partners to anchor the venture’s core consumer credit and leasing frameworks.
  • Team Scaling: Recruit, inspire, and grow a high-performing local team from scratch, instilling an aggressive culture of execution and high accountability.

Who you are

Prior solar energy or clean-tech industry experience is absolutely not required. The fund provides the foundational climate framework and structural blueprint; we need you to bring the local traction, velocity, and commercial scale.

  • The Track Record: You are a senior commercial leader (likely at the Director, Country Manager, or Founding Executive level) who has scaled high-growth, fast-moving B2C platforms. Direct experience inside disruptive fintech, digital payments, InsurTech, BNPL, or transaction-heavy environments is highly prized.
  • 0-to-1 Launch Metrics: You possess a proven history of launching a new geographic market, feature, or consumer business unit from absolute scratch, managing operational teams of 10+ headcount along the way.
  • Financial & Credit Savvy: You deeply understand consumer finance dynamics. You are completely fluent in P&L mechanics, can confidently talk margin math, navigate banking partnerships, and cleanly defend pricing and credit strategies.
  • Leadership Style: You pair the professional maturity of a seasoned executive with genuine humility. You are a highly self-aware builder who reflects openly on past successes and failures, directly applying those iterative insights to build resilient organizations.
