Local Wind Turbine Technician

This is a site-based Wind Technician opening for a wind farm site near Cimarron, Kansas. This is a local position so no relocation assistance will be offered to non-local candidates. Although previous wind turbine maintenance experience is preferred, this opportunity is also available to mechanically/electrically inclined candidates with transferrable skills looking to join the wind industry. Responsibilities Always maintain a high level of safety awareness. Climb heights 300 ft. and greater several times daily. Diagnose and resolve faults on turbines as they relate to mechanical, electrical and hydraulic problems. Preform troubleshooting to identify the root cause of an issue and preform corrective actions or open a service case with equipment manufacturer. Preform energy isolation in accordance with all Lock Out / Tag Out Procedures Preform pad mounted Transformer switching in accordance with all hazardous Energy Controls Procedures Preform small or large corrective tasks on wind turbines. Preform preventative maintenance, corrective maintenance, performance monitoring and evaluation. Maintaining all aspects (e.g. electrical, mechanical, civil, etc.) of turbines in a safe, high quality, and efficient manner. Maintain EH&S Documentation and complete necessary paperwork (work order, timesheet, tool and PPE inventory, and additional paperwork as necessary) within Maximo.
