Role Overview
We are seeking a motivated and technically sound Candidate to support the implementation of climate mitigation projects and lead project monitoring activities.
The candidate will play a key role in executing decarbonization initiatives, coordinating field implementation, ensuring compliance with carbon standards, and managing monitoring, reporting, and verification (MRV) processes.
Key Responsibilities
Project Development and Implementation
- Understanding of various Registries, Methodology, Writing PDDs, Monitoring Report etc. in line with methodology and the carbon standard to ensure smooth registration and issuances.
- Support end-to-end implementation of climate change and decarbonization projects across sectors such as renewable energy, energy efficiency, clean cooking, waste management, water purification, biodigesters, and community-based interventions.
- Coordinate with project developers, implementation partners, local stakeholders, and field teams.
- Ensure project activities are executed in accordance with approved project design documents (PDDs), methodologies, and monitoring plans.
- Conduct site visits and implementation assessments to verify project progress and quality.
Monitoring, Reporting & Verification (MRV)
- Conducting validation & verification of carbon projects and engagement with audtiors.
- Lead project monitoring activities and ensure accurate collection of project data.
- Develop and maintain monitoring systems, databases, and documentation for carbon projects.
- Prepare monitoring reports, emission reduction calculations, and supporting evidence for validation and verification processes.
- Coordinate with third-party auditors, VVBs, and certification bodies during project validation and verification cycles.
- Ensure compliance with standards such as Gold Standard, Verra (VCS), CDM, Article 6 mechanisms, and other applicable frameworks.
Technical & Analytical Support
- Assist in baseline assessments, emission reduction estimations, and decarbonization strategy development.
- Review methodologies, monitoring parameters, and eligibility criteria applicable to climate projects.
- Analyze project performance data and identify opportunities for process improvement and enhanced mitigation outcomes.
- Support preparation of technical documentation, stakeholder consultation reports, and sustainability assessments.
Stakeholder Coordination
- Engage with local communities, implementation agencies, consultants, and government stakeholders.
- Facilitate training and awareness sessions related to project monitoring and sustainability practices.
- Support internal and external reporting requirements.
Qualifications & Experience
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Environmental Science, Climate Change, Sustainability, Energy, Engineering, or related field.
- Minimum 2 years of relevant experience in climate change projects, carbon markets, development of PDD, registration & verification.
- Experience in implementation and monitoring of carbon credit projects preferred.
- Familiarity with MRV systems and carbon accounting methodologies.
- Knowledge of international carbon standards and sustainability frameworks.
Required Skills
