About Equisera
At Equisera, you will be part of a team building the next generation of carbon-negative energy, tackling some of the hardest problems in the global energy transition.
Our breakthrough RiPR technology converts wet biogenic feedstocks, including agricultural and food waste and even plastics, into high-yield hydrogen and biomethane with minimal pre-processing. Both outputs capture carbon dioxide and generate biochar, creating a truly carbon-negative fuel solution.
Designed to decarbonise hard-to-abate sectors, our hydrogen and biomethane directly reduce greenhouse gas emissions. The flexible RiPR process adapts to evolving policy landscapes, including hydrogen blending mandates, ensuring resilience and scalability.
Backed by significant investment and strategic partnerships, you will be joining us at a critical scale-up phase. You will work within a small, passionate, high-impact team and help shape a cleaner, greener energy future.
The Role
As the Engineering Project Manager, you will lead the delivery of complex, multidisciplinary projects that take novel process technologies from R&D through to commercial deployment. You will be accountable for delivery outcomes and empowered to drive decisions across disciplines and external partners.
You will sit at the interface of engineering, science, and project delivery, translating cutting-edge research and related technologies into structured, executable engineering projects that de-risk scale-up and accelerate deployment of production plants.
This is a hands-on role suited to someone comfortable operating in a fast-moving, technically ambitious start-up environment.

- Lead multidisciplinary teams to deliver end-to-end R&D and scale-up projects for Equisera process technologies.
- Develop and maintain integrated project plans, schedules, budgets, and risk registers.
- Own delivery against agreed technical scope, schedule, cost, and risk, ensuring readiness for investment and regulatory review.
- Implement robust change control, reporting, and governance in line with company and investor expectations.

- Act as a key interface between internal teams, external partners, investors, regulators, and funding bodies.
- Support grant-funded projects (e.g. Innovate UK) through effective delivery, reporting, and compliance.
- Contribute to technical input for investor materials, board updates, and partner discussions.

- Demonstrated ability to manage complexity, uncertainty, and competing priorities without losing momentum.
- You have excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- You are proactive, self-motivated, and comfortable supporting multiple stakeholders in a fast-paced environment.
- Knowledge of project controls tools (e.g. MS Project, Asana, Primavera, risk & cost management systems).

Desirable:
- Experience working with technical teams in early-stage or rapidly scaling companies.
- Qualifications / experience with Chemical Engineering, Chemistry, or a closely related discipline
- Familiarity with process safety and FEED studies (HAZOP, SIL, COMAH, ATEX)
- Qualification in PRINCE2 AGILE
