Owner: 100% owned by the Norwegian Business Foundation for Environmental Product Declarations (EPD-Global)

Position: Newly created leadership role


Do you want to build Norway's new verification body for EPDs?

Global Verify & Services is established to strengthen quality, credibility, and capacity in the field of verification of Environmental Product Declarations (EPDs). We are now looking for a general manager who will have a unique opportunity: to build up a professionally strong environment from the ground up and set the direction for a company with significant importance for sustainable transition in Europe and rest of the world.

1. Purpose of the position

As general manager, you will have full responsibility for establishing, developing, and leading the company. You will ensure that Global Verify & Services becomes a robust, accredited, and recognized verification body that delivers high professional quality and operates in line with applicable standards, accreditation requirements, and strategic goals.

2. Main responsibilities

2.1 Strategic and operational management

Build up and lead the company in line with the board's guidelines and the company's purpose.

Ensure solid operations, good financial management and goal achievement.

Develop professional capacity, service portfolio, and market position nationally and internationally.

2.2 Accreditation and professional quality

Establish and further develop systems that meet the requirements of ISO 17029 and the accreditation body's expectations.

Lead the planning, implementation, and maintenance of ISO 17029 accreditation.

Implement and improve routines for EPD verification in line with ISO 17029 and ECO Platform Verification Guidelines.

Lead the process so that Global Verify & Services is appointed as a Notified Body

Ensure that all verification processes are of high professional quality and follow best practices.


2.3 Quality management

Overall responsibility for the company's Quality Management System (QMS).

Drive continuous improvement of procedures, documentation, and work processes.

Responsibility for Complaint Handling – reception, processing, documentation, and improvement measures.

2.4 Professional development and industry impact

Follow developments in EPDs, LCA, environmental standards and European regulation (e.g. CPR and ESPR).

Represent the company in relevant national and international networks and professional forums.

Contribute to strengthening Norway's position in environmental documentation, both in Europe and outside Europe

2.5 Customer and marketing work

Ensure high customer satisfaction through professional dialogue and clear processes.

Build strong relationships with EPD developers, industry associations, governments, and international partners.

Prepare and execute the company's business and growth strategy.

Contribute to profitable growth through the development of customer portfolio and new services.


3. Qualifications

3.1 Education

Higher relevant education in LCA, environmental technology, industrial ecology, sustainability, engineering, or equivalent.

Additional education in quality systems, certification or accreditation is an advantage.

Particularly good oral and written presentation skills in Norwegian and English.

3.2 Experience

Solid experience with LCA and development of EPDs.

Proven experience with verification, certification, or accreditation schemes.

Experience with quality management and working with European/international standards.

Management experience is desirable, but strong professional weight and ability to implement can compensate.

Structured, accurate and quality-oriented.

Ability to build new processes, systems, and organizations.

Customer-focused and confident in dialogue with both professional environments and customers.

Independent, enterprising, and comfortable with operational work in a start-up phase.

Trust-building and good at building professional relationships.

High integrity and understanding of requirements for independence and impartiality in verification work.
