Remote Control Center Manager - Europe & LATAM | BESS & Onshore Wind
Role Overview
As the RCC Manager, you will lead and oversee the 24/7 Remote Control Center operations for Envision's portfolio of Battery Energy Storage Systems (BESS) and Onshore Wind assets across Europe and LATAM. You will be responsible for maximizing fleet availability, performance, and operational safety while ensuring compliance with internal procedures, grid requirements, and regulatory standards.
The RCC Manager will provide strategic leadership to RCC teams, establish operational excellence standards, drive continuous improvement initiatives, and act as the key interface between Operations, Engineering, Service, Asset Management, and external stakeholders. The role combines technical expertise, people leadership, incident management, and operational governance to ensure world-class control room performance.
Key Responsibilities
1. RCC Operations Leadership
Lead and manage 24/7 Remote Control Center operations, ensuring safe, reliable, and efficient operation of BESS and onshore wind fleets.
Develop operational strategies, procedures, escalation protocols, and performance standards to optimize fleet availability and responsiveness.
Ensure consistent execution of monitoring, dispatching, remote operations, and incident management activities across all shifts.
2. Fleet Performance & Availability Management
Maximize BESS and wind farm availability, energy production, and operational performance through proactive monitoring and operational decision-making.
Oversee critical asset performance indicators, identify trends, and drive actions to reduce downtime and improve reliability.
Coordinate technical responses to major incidents, grid events, curtailments, and emergency situations.
3. Incident & Crisis Management
Act as the ultimate operational escalation point for critical technical issues affecting fleet performance, safety, or grid compliance.
Lead incident response processes, coordinate cross-functional resources, and ensure timely resolution of major operational events.
Oversee root cause analyses (RCA), corrective action plans, lessons learned processes, and knowledge management activities.
4. Team Leadership & Development
Lead, coach, and develop RCC Supervisors, Specialists, and Operators within a 24/7 operational environment.
Foster a high-performance culture focused on safety, accountability, operational excellence, and continuous improvement.
Support workforce planning, shift coverage, recruitment, onboarding, training, competency development, and succession planning.
5. Cross-Functional Coordination
Align RCC operations with Field Operations, Service, Engineering, Asset Management, HSE, Grid Compliance, and Commercial teams.
Support strategic operational planning for new projects, fleet expansions, commissioning activities, and operational readiness programs.
6. SCADA, Systems & Process Optimization
Ensure the effective utilization and continuous improvement of SCADA, HMI, EMS, and monitoring platforms.
Drive digitalization initiatives, operational analytics, reporting automation, and control room efficiency improvements.
Establish operational best practices, KPIs, dashboards, and performance reporting processes.
7. Compliance, Safety & Governance
Ensure all RCC activities comply with company procedures, HSE requirements, cybersecurity standards, and grid regulations.
Promote a safety-first culture throughout control room operations and ensure adherence to operational risk management processes.
Maintain operational documentation, audit readiness, and compliance reporting requirements.
8. Continuous Improvement & Operational Excellence
Lead LEAN and continuous improvement initiatives focused on reliability, efficiency, cost optimization, and service quality.
Analyze operational performance metrics and implement initiatives to continuously improve response times, alarm management, and fleet performance.
Benchmark operational practices and support the development of global RCC standards.
Qualifications
Education
Bachelor's Degree or higher qualification in Electrical Engineering, Energy Engineering, Automation, Control Systems, Renewable Energy, or a related technical discipline.
Experience
Minimum 7-10 years of experience in renewable energy operations, including significant exposure to BESS and/or wind energy assets.
Minimum 3-5 years of leadership experience managing operational teams, control room environments, or 24/7 service operations.
Technical Expertise
Strong technical and operational knowledge of:
- Battery Energy Storage Systems (BESS)
- Utility-scale Onshore Wind Farms
- SCADA, HMI, EMS and Monitoring Systems
- Power Systems and Grid Operations
- Incident Management and Operational Risk Control
- Renewable Energy Performance Analysis
Ability to interpret operational data, technical logs, protection events, and electrical diagrams to support critical decision-making.
Leadership Skills
Proven leadership and people management capabilities within a fast-paced 24/7 operational environment.
Demonstrated ability to coordinate multidisciplinary teams, manage priorities, and lead through high-pressure operational situations.
Analytical & Communication Skills

Strong stakeholder management capabilities with the ability to communicate effectively across technical and executive audiences.
Languages
Professional proficiency in English is required and Spanish is highly desirable.
